Kristie Fujiyama Kosmides is an artist. She wakes up in the morning excited about getting started on her artwork. Her art consists of many different types of painting. She did animation in “Hey, Arnold!” at the Nickelodeon Studios. She formed a company called “I.E. in Everybody,” to feature her whimsical art pieces that were marketed on the Internet. She currently is focusing on her fine art oil paintings in Los Angeles as well as painting over 800 original works, which will hang in guest rooms at the Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Hotel in Hilo. She has also been doing commissioned works in Los Angeles, where she now resides. Her works have also been shown in Japan, Los Angeles and, in the near future, Paris.
Kristie attended the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and received her Bachelors degree in fine arts from Otis College of Arts and Design in Los Angeles. It was while in college that she realized that painting and art school were her real interests.
As a member of Waiakea High School’s class of 1993, she remembers all the fun she had with her friends. She felt that the academic and social environment at the school was well balanced and introduced her to many fascinating areas of study. She thanks her English teacher, Mrs. Debbie Miyao, for encouraging her to enroll in a gifted and talented art class, which introduced her to a whole new kind of art and creativity.
