JUNIOR COUNTRY FAIR

Need to make room for all of the presents you'll be receiving from Santa this year?  Start cleaning out your room and donate it to the class of 2010.  Collections for rummage sale (clothes, toys, kitchen items, etc.)  items will be taken, starting today and running through December 19 in P4. - P. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

CHANCELLOR'S  SCHOLARSHIP  APPLICATION  - Is a four year tuition scholarship.  Eligibility Criteria :  Top 10% of graduating class. GPA  of  3.5 or better. Demonstrated leadership and /or community service. Deadline :  January 31, 2009. Interested students, come to GRAC for an application /information. ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP LABS IN HAWAII

 The Kohala Center & Brown University are offering scholarships for two Hawaii Island students to participate in an Enviromental Leadership Lab. Students get to study biology, ecology and cultural traditons of the islands w/ other students fr. around the country. The scholarship students are selected on a needs basis. PUNAHOU SCHOOL INTERNATIONAL CENTER

Punahou School offers three study trips in the summer of 2009 ---- to China, Costa Rica and Japan. These study trips are offered to students currently enrolled in gr. 10 & 11. Selection is based on academic record, recommendations & personal interview. Financial aid in varying amts. is available to qualified applications. Deadline for applications: January 15, 2009. STUDY ABROAD - DISCOVER JAPAN

Hawaii Tokai International College is offering students a chance to enroll in HTIC  in the summer or Fall terms and take Japanese language and culture courses, as well as other General Ed. courses. MISS TEEN INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Applications are now being accepted for the title of  Miss Teen Hawaii International. There is no swimsuit competition.  Competition enclude: Private interview, Fitness wear, Fashion wear, Evening gown. THE GREATEST TIME OF YEAR:  WINTER WEEK 2008:

Wear green or a recycled outfit tomorrow for Going Green for the Holidays.  Create a recycled tree ornament and enter it in the ornament contest.  The reccyled ornament must be turned in to E-103 by morning recess.  Wear red and jingle bells tomorrow.  There will be a rockband competition in the cafeteria during lunch recess. Sign up in E-103, first come-first served.    - D. Tanabe

WINTER WEEK 2008:

Dress up days for the week:  Monday - white or winter attire; Tuesday - green or a recycled outfit; Weds. - red and jingle bells; Thurs. - holiday costumes; Friday - red and green. - D. Tanabe

IKAIKA NA MANA'O AFTER-SCHOOL CONCESSION  

Please come and support our "Ikaika Na Mana'o" program by purchasing items from our after-school concession at C101. We will have daily specials ranging from pizza, cheeseburgers, tacos and a variety of other items. Stop by and enjoy some yummy treats! - L. Kiyonaga

WINTER WEEK -  DOOR DECORATING CONTEST:

Form a team of four (or less) and decorate a teacher's classroom door by Thursday, Dec. 18.  Pick up an entry form from E-103 and submit it by Dec. 16 to be eligible for the contest.   - D. Tanabe

COLLEGE PRESENTATION

OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY  - A representative from Oregon State University will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Tuesday, December 16th at 1:15pm. OSU is a public 4 - yr. university, 80 mil. from Portland. Come to GRAC for a pass if interested. - N. Okinaka

SENIORS  

The commencement committee would like submissions of an original poem and/or artwork for our commencement booklet.  Theme:  Reason to Believe.  Submit your creation(s) for selection by 1-16-2009 to Mrs. Irie in R202. - K. Irie
