GENERAL

ASVAB TEST

Just a reminder - ASVAB testing is scheduled for Thursday, January 15th,  at 8:15am. - 12:00pm in the Waiakea High School Library. (Periods 1, recess, 3 & pd.5 ) Although the ASVAB  is a military test to gain entrance into the military, it is also a helpful and useful exam to see where your strengths and interests are. And it's free !  For more information or to sign up for the test, come to GRAC. - N. Okinaka

SCHOLARSHIP

PRINCE KUHI'O HAWAIIAN CIVIC CLUB SCHOLARSHIP  -  Applicants must be of Hawaiian ancestry, GPA. - 2.5 , demonstrate academic and leadership potential. Essay required.Deadline:  April 1, 2009. If interested, come to GRAC. - N. Okinaka

CANDY CANE AND KISSES -  

Send someone a candy cane and kisses for $1.50.  Limited number of bags will be on sale from Dec. 8 - 12 in front of E-103 during lunch recess.  Candy bags will be distributed on Wed., Dec. 17th in advisory.  So, purchase these sweet treats for your special friends and let them know that you're thinking of them this holiday season.    - K. SENIORS!

Please be aware of the deadlines for your college applications!  January 1st is quickly approaching.  If I need to complete any forms for your application, be sure to give all of the necessary materials to me by December 12th.  Do not put college forms in my box during the winter break because I will not be coming in to check my box.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Tagawa.  Thank you! - H. HOLIDAY BALLOONS:

Preordering begins today, both recesses outside of E-103 for the Class of 2011's Holiday Balloon Sale.  Cost is $3/balloon.  Balloons will be delivered on Thurs., 12/18. - D. Tanabe

THE GREATEST TIME OF YEAR - WINTER WEEK 2008:

Wear Winter or white attire on Monday (Chilly Willy Day) and come to the quad during lunch recess to decorate a gingerbread cookie.  Very limited supply.   On Tuesday (Going Green for the Holidays) wear green or a recycled outfit   Create a recycled tree ornament and enter it in the Recycled Ornament Contest.  Turn in your ornament to E-103 by morning recess.  - D. WINTER WEEK 2008:

Dress up days for the week:  Monday - white or winter attire; Tuesday - green or a recycled outfit; Weds. - red and jingle bells; Thurs. - holiday costumes; Friday - red and green. - D. Tanabe

SATURDAY SCHOOL

The last Saturday School for this semester will be held this Saturday, December 13,  from 8:00 am - 12:20 pm in the school cafeteria. This is your last opportunity to make-up any absences for the semester. Students must have assigned work and have a valid WHS ID to enter. All school rules apply. IKAIKA NA MANA'O AFTER-SCHOOL CONCESSION  

Please come and support our "Ikaika Na Mana'o" program by purchasing items from our after-school concession at C101. We will have daily specials ranging from pizza, cheeseburgers, tacos and a variety of other items. Stop by and enjoy some yummy treats! - L. Kiyonaga

WINTER WEEK -  DOOR DECORATING CONTEST:

Form a team of four (or less) and decorate a teacher's classroom door by Thursday, Dec. 18.  Pick up an entry form from E-103 and submit it by Dec. 16 to be eligible for the contest.   - D. Tanabe
