GENERAL

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Seniors interested in applying for the HAWAII ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP:  Completed packets should be turned in to GRAC no later than Monday, January 26.   DO NOT mail packets in to the Rotary Club.   See Mrs. Sakai-Kawada for more information. - T. Kawada

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

MAMORU & AIKO TAKITANI FOUNDATION, INC -  Amt. $1,000.00. Open to all Senior High School students. Submit completed application materials to Mrs. Sakai-Kawada (Do not send it in by yourself) no later than Thursday, February 12, 2009. Scholarship information and an electronic application in pdf format, which my be downloaded, completed and printed, can be found on the website,  www.takitanifoundation.org.  (Please turn in all completed applications). AFTER HOURS REGISTRATION COUNSELING (DEC 1-10):

Students, if you need assistance in completing the 2009-10 course registration form, come to library from 1 - 6 p.  Get quick answers on credit checks, diploma requirements for graduation, etc.;  Parents /guardians are welcome. - J. Nekoba

JUNIOR COUNTRY FAIR

Need to make room for all of the presents you'll be receiving from Santa this year?  Start cleaning out your room and donate it to the class of 2010.  Collections for rummage sale (clothes, toys, kitchen items, etc.)  items will be taken, starting today and running through December 19 in P4. - P. NEW FINE ARTS CLASS NEXT YEAR!

If you want to have a challenging and rewarding art elective, come and sign up for the new Digital Photography course in M103, it is listed on your registration form as FVP1000. - A. Kelly

SCHOLARSHIP FOR JUNIORS

DISCOVER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM  - Any current Junior who has at least a 2.75 cum.  G.P.A. is qualified to  apply for the scholarship program. And if  you demonstrate accomplishments in community service and leadership while overcoming an Obstacle. Up to 10 scholarships of $30,000 each.  Applications are now available at www.applyists.net from Dec. 1st, 2008, to  January 31, 2009,or www.discoverfinancial.com/community . UHHILO - SCHOLARS W/ DISABILITIES TUITION WAIVER

UH Hilo is pleased to announce the availability of the Scholars w/ Disabilities Tuition Waiver  designed for students w/ disabilities who are interested in attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Tuition Fee Waiver will be applied towards the tuition fee in the amt. of $1,000. Deadline: December 12, 2008. If interested or for more information, come to GRAC.

JANICE M. SCOTT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND  -  Deadline:  June 30, 2009. GPA -of 2.5 or higher. Must be enrolled in a university full-time during school yr. of 2009-2010 and have demonstrated leadership abilities through  participating in community services, extra curricular or other activities. AFTER-SCHOOL CONCESSION

Please come and support our "Ikaika Na Mana'o " program by purchasing items from our after-school concession at C101. We will have daily specials ranging from pizza , cheeseburgers, tacos and a variety of other items. Stop by and enjoy some yummy treats! - L. Kiyonaga

SAT TESTING

Just a reminder !!  SAT  Testing is scheduled for tomorrow- Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Waiakea High School Cafeteria, starting at 7:45am. - 1:30pm. Please don't forget to bring the following items: picture ID (drivers license, student ID ), admission ticket, calculator (optional). Also - No Cell Phones Allowed. Any questions ? FRESHMEN AFTER SCHOOL CONCESSION COMMITTEE

Hey all you spirited Dragons!  Get involved and help our class out by attending the after school concession meeting on Friday, Dec. 5th in Mrs. Iokepa's room, D-204 during lunch recess.  This meeting is open to all freshmen who are interested in helping our class to raise money.  If you cannont attend, please see Mrs. Uyeda in D-203 when you can.  Bring your creative ideas! - K. SIERRA STUDENT COALITION

We will hold a brief meeting during Lunch recess in M 103 on Thursday,  Dec. 4 to discuss the upcoming activity! Wear your club T shirts on Friday the 5th for Recycling immediately after school. The more the merrier. - A. Kelly

Viewpoints 2008 - 2009, Program #4 via DOE channel 56 - ViewPoints program #4, "Budget Reductions & Restrictions," on PBS Hawaii, KHET, Sunday, December 28th, at 3:30 p.m.

Auto Desk Software - Free show & tell of Autodesk software.  The free show & tell will be on Friday, December 12th from 3:15 - 4:15 p.m. at Hawaii Community College Building 381, room 14.  The show & tell will concentrate on software related to digital media art & computer game design, although Visucate does offer products related to engineering software, classroom management software, and VEX Robotics.
