GENERAL

STUDENT REMINDER

The office bathrooms are available ONLY for students who have a class in the office or the library, or at the office to conference with the principal. Students are responsible for their belongings at all times.  Please be reminded that custodians will NOT open any classroom afterschool to assist in retrieving items.  Lastly, the office is not a shortcut to the library, all students must enter and exit through the main library door.  Thank you. - M. 2ND ANNUAL SANTA'S WORKSHOP:

Students, please donate new or like-new items to E-103 for our 2nd Annual Santa's Workshop.  All items will be purchased by elementary school students and the money raised will be donated to Hawaii's Ronald McDonald House.  All items must be brought to E-103 by Weds., Dec. 3rd.  All classes and service clubs, please encouraged participation in this school-wide service project.   - D. REGENTS SCHOLARSHIP

The 2009 - 2010 Regents Scholarship application will be available the week of November 24th. online at www.hawaii.edu/raps.

Regents Scholars receive a full tuition waiver for four yrs. All scholars receive $4,000 a yr. and a one - time travel grant of $2,000. Regents Scholarships are awarded to an outstanding freshman who receive an SAT combined score of  at least 1950 on all three sections of the test or ACT  combine score of at least 29,  maintain  a 3.5 GPA in studies. Deadline: February 1, 2009. If interested, please go to the website for more information. Or come to GRAC. - N. Okinaka

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

MAMORU & AIKO TAKITANI FOUNDATION, INC -  Amt. $1,000.00. Open to all Senior High School students. Submit completed application materials to Mrs. Sakai-Kawada (Do not send it in by yourself) no later than Thursday, February 12, 2009. Scholarship information and an electronic application in pdf format, which my be downloaded, completed and printed, can be found on the website,  www.takitanifoundation.org.  (Please turn in all completed applications). Any student interested in taking AP World or AP US History in the 2009-10 school year,  need to see Mrs. King ASAP before school, morning recess or after school in U303. - P. King

 

MEETINGS

CLASS OF 2012 CLASS COUNCIL

There will be a class council meeting this Thursday, Dec. 4th during lunch recess in D-203.  Please wear your red class shirt to the meeting.  The yearbook staff will also take our class council photo.  Please be prompt so that we can take the photo and conduct our business.  Thank you! - K. Uyeda

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

There will be a general meeting for all members on Monday, Dec. 1 during lunch recess in Room R-204 (Mr. Goltz).  Meeting will start at 12:30p.  We will be discussing math tutoring and Science Buddies.  The school is asking for the organization's assistance.  Please make every effort to attend. - J. PACIFIC ASIAN AFFAIRS COUNCIL

All PAAC members, Please do not forget to come to an important meeting on TUESDAY, December 2, during morning recess, in R-201. We will be planning for our Spring Conference trip to O'ahu.  Anyone who wants to attend must participate in our first fundraiser! - L. Kamalani
