GENERAL

CAP & GOWN ORDERING

Reminder to all seniors who have not yet ordered their cap and gown that mailed in orders must be postmarked before 12/01/08.  Orders after this date must include a $20.00 late fee.  Be sure to add the handling fee and tax to your order subtotal.  A cap and gown must be purchased to participate in the Commencement Exercises, no exceptions.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Sakai Kawada, Mrs. Sato or Alyssa Sato. - K. Sato

HAPPY THANKSGIVING:

WINTER PROGRAM

All students interested in putting on a performance (ex. dancing, skits, etc.) in the Winter Program or possibly being an emcee for the program, please come to D-201 to pick up an application form this week.  All forms are due by Monday, December 1, 2008.  If you have questions, please see Mrs. Castillo in D-201. - K. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

HGEA CHARLES KENDALL SCHOLARSHIP & EDUCATIONAL FUND  - Graduating seniors who are HGEA dependents may apply for the scholarship. Amt. - $1,000 - $2,000. Student must attend a college, community college or university or vocational trade school of study on a full - time basis. Deadline:  February 16, 2009.

FUKUNAGA SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION  -  Will be offering 4 yr. scholarships to qualified students, who wish to pursue studies in the preparation for a business career.  Amt. $4,000 per student per yr, or max. of $16, 000 over 4 yrs.  Letters of recommendation, SAT's, transcripts, FAFSA required. Deadline: March 1, 2009.  For more infor./application, to any of these scholarships, come to GRAC.  - N. Okinaka

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

Seniors interested in applying for the Daughter's of the American Revolution Good Citizen scholarship, please see Mrs. Tagawa in Portable 5 for the application and requirements.  Applications are due to Mrs. Tagawa by December 17th, 3 pm.  No exceptions.  As questions, see Mrs. Tagawa.  Thank you!   - H. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Seniors interested in applying for the HAWAII ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP:  Completed packets should be turned in to GRAC no later than Monday, January 26.   DO NOT mail packets in to the Rotary Club.   See Mrs. Sakai-Kawada for more information. - T. Kawada

REGENTS SCHOLARSHIP

The 2009 - 2010 Regents Scholarship application will be available the week of November 24th. online at www.hawaii.edu/raps.

Regents Scholars receive a full tuition waiver for four yrs. All scholars receive $4,000 a yr. and a one - time travel grant of $2,000. Regents Scholarships are awarded to an outstanding freshman who receive an SAT combined score of  at least 1950 on all three sections of the test or ACT  combine score of at least 29,  maintain  a 3.5 GPA in studies. Deadline: February 1, 2009. If interested, please go to the website for more information. Or come to GRAC. - N. Okinaka

CORRECTION TO REGISTRATION FORM:   

The Teacher Ed course listed under the Public and Human Services Academy is the Explorations In Education course described in the catalog.  This course is open to all academies! - Y. Bright-Poai

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY

There will be a general meeting for all members on Monday, Dec. 1 during lunch recess in Room R-204 (Mr. Goltz).  Meeting will start at 12:30p.  We will be discussing math tutoring and Science Buddies.  The school is asking for the organization's assistance.  Please make every effort to attend. - J.
