ALOHA FRIDAY

YEARBOOKS FOR SALE

The yearbook class will be selling old yearbooks at discounted prices this week only.  Students can purchase a 2006 yearbook for $ 35.00, a 2007 yearbook for $40.00 or a 2008 yearbook for $45.00.  All three yearbooks will be sold on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, Thursday, November 20, 2008 and Friday, November 21, 2008 at lunch recess in D-201.  You will need to purchase these books with cash.  Also, we will be taking orders for the 2009 yearbook on these dates.  The cost for the 2009 yearbook is $50.00 and students can order the book with cash or a check written out to WHS. Remember that time is running out if you plan to get your 2009 yearbook engraved.   - K. Castillo

SPRING SEMESTER E-SCHOOL REGISTRATION

Registration has opened for Spring 2009 courses for E-School, the online high school credit source sponsored by the DOE.  Since you access your teacher and classmates only online, you need to be a very motivated student to sign up for such courses as: Writing Workshop, Journalistic Writing, Trigonometry, Ethnic Studies and  Career and Life Planning.  Last day to register is January 15, but courses fill up very quickly.  For more information, please see Mrs. Kobayashi in the Library. - G. COLLEGE & CAREER FAIR

All students who have paid for their bus fair, & signed up to go to the College & Career Fair !!  You are to report to your Pd. 2 - class to check in and then proceed to the upper student parking lot by the Cafeteria. The bus will be leaving promptly at 9:45am.  Any questions or concerns, come to GRAC.  - N. Okinaka

2ND ANNUAL SANTA'S WORKSHOP:

Students, please donate new or like-new items to E-103 for our 2nd Annual Santa's Workshop.  All items will be purchased by elementary school students and the money raised will be donated to Hawaii's Ronald McDonald House.  All items must be brought to E-103 by Weds., Dec. 3rd.  All classes and service clubs, please encouraged participation in this school-wide service project.   - D. SENIORS

Give the gift of giving and earn ONE point towards a Commencement ticket by bringing in 5 NEW or LIGHTLY USED items for  Santa's Workshop.  Items need to be turned in to GRAC to receive credit.  Deadline:  Wednesday, December 3rd.  See Mrs. Sakai-Kawada for more information.  - T. Kawada

TRIP TO FRANCE

SENIOR CAP & GOWN ORDERING

All seniors who have not yet placed their order for graduation cap & gown and accessories will have another opportunity on Tuesday (11/25) at lunch in P-12.  Forms and payment may be turned-in at this time.  Seniors may also mail in the form and payment to the address on the form.  Be sure to add the handling fee and tax as stated on the order form.  Mailed forms must be postmarked before 12/01/08 to be counted as on-time.  After 12/01/08 a $20.00 late fee must be added to orders.  If you have any questions see Mrs. Sakai Kawada, Mrs. Sato or Alyssa Sato - K. SATURDAY SCHOOL

The first Saturday School for this semester will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008, from 8:00am-12:20pm at the school cafeteria. The next two Saturday Schools for the rest of the semester will be held on Wednesday, December 3, from 2:00pm-6:20pm and Saturday, December 13, from 8:00am-12:20pm, both in the school cafeteria. Students must have assigned work from their teachers and a valid WHS  ID to enter Saturday School. All school rules apply.
