CAP & GOWN ORDERING

Reminder:  Today is the cap and gown ordering date!  Come to the cafeteria during period 6 to order and get measured for your cap and gown.  Don't forget to bring your filled out order form and full payment!  See you there SENIORS! - K. Sato

CAREER & COLLEGE FAIR

Attention all Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors!! The 2008 College & Career Fair is coming !! It is scheduled for Thursday, November 20th, 2008 at the Hilo Sangha Hall.  Come and sign up in GRAC (port. 12 ).  Bus fare is $2.00 and we will be leaving promptly at 9:45am. and returning to campus at 11:15am.  The first 100 students get to go! Please bring exact change. A scheduled time, to meet at the bus ramp, on the day of the excursion, will be announced at a later date. Hurry!  Hurry!!  Hurry and sign up!!! Permission forms may be picked up at first recess, lunch recess and after school, please do not send students during class time.  - N. Okinaka

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

HAWAII ROTARY YOUTH FOUNDATION -  Amt. range from $2,000.00 - $5,000. Transcripts, letters of recommendation, Student Aid Report (SAR), or FAFSA required. Deadline:  January 31, 2009.

SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDY ABROAD IN GERMANY  -  Interested seniors who wish to study abroad in Germany !  This is a full scholarship. The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange program is for motivated high school students who want to live w/ a host family & attend school for an academic yr. in Germany. No previous language exp. required. If interested go to www.USA Germany Scholarship.org. to download an application. Deadline to apply: December 16th.  GPA -  3.0 or higher. Be b/n the ages of 15 & 18 by the start of the program. For more information, come to GRAC. - N. Okinaka

FOOD DRIVE

Hui Hawaii 'o Waiakea is sponsoring a food drive from November 12 - 21.  Donations are being accepted in Room C101 or C102.  Please support the Hawaii Food Basket and our island families - K. Kaleohano

UNITED STATES YOUTH SENATE PROGRAM:

Congratulations to Daniel Okubo and Francis Sakai-Kawada, two of six statewide semi finalists in the U.S. Youth Senate Program.  They will interviewed later this month in Honolulu.  Way to go, Warriors! - D. Tanabe

WINTER BALL BID SALES:

Winter Ball bid sales begin today and runs until Nov. 19.  We will not extend the deadline so buy your bid(s) early.  If you are bringing an outside guest, competed forms and a copy of his/her identification must be submitted by next Weds.  No excuses, please.   - D. Tanabe

MEETINGS

SENIORS PARTICIPATING IN WINTER PROGRAM

There is a MANDATORY meeting for all seniors who signed up to participate in this years Winter Program on FRIDAY, NOV. 14 in Q204 at LUNCH recess.  If you are unable to attend, please see Nyssa Aoki or Mrs. Higa BEFORE LUNCH recess on FRIDAY or we will assume you will not be participating. - L.
