GENERAL

WIN THE ULTIMATE PROM

To all students:  Do you want to help the Senior Class get $25,000?  Go online to wintheultimateprom.com & register as a voter.  Vote for Waiakea High School from today through November 15.  You can vote once a day.  Voters must be 13 & older, so get parents and friends to register & vote.  UNDERCLASSMEN:  WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!  If we win, prizes will be given to the classes who voted.  Waiakea High is up against all other High School's in the nation so VOTE EVERY DAY so we can win $25,000. - T. GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS

This scholarship is available to Seniors who are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better.  Other criteria include enrolling at an accredited college or university full-time beginning in the fall of 2009.  Applicants must demonstrate leadership via participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities.  Apply on-line at www.gmsp.org or come to GRAC for more information.  Paper applications must be postmarked by January 12, 2009.   - T. HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS:

Show your Halloween spirit by dressing up and participating in the costume contest and fashion show during lunch recess on Friday.  The categories are:  Funny (Wacky); Scary (Chicken Skin); Best Overall.  Cross-dressing on this day is not permitted.   Fun foods eating contests will also be held during lunch recess.  No sign up necessary.  One activity per person. - D. MEETINGS

TALENTED WARRIORS NEEDED!

Variety Show 2008 is ready to accept applications for Talent Acts.  Come to C-204 first recess on Monday, Oct. 27 for an informational meeting.  If you cannot send at least one representative for your act, see Miss Ellsworth in C-204 during morning recess any day next week to get rules and forms.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the top performers so sign up to perform in the Variety Show and show us what you've got. - M.
