GENERAL

PSAT REGISTRATION

PSAT REGISTRATION  - Is  FREE !  FREE !!   FREE !!!  to students from 9th to 11th grade !!!  REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH. THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER WILL BE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3RD.  PSAT TESTING IS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2008 AT THE WHS CAFE. PROMPTLY AT 7:30 A.M.  To register for the test, come to GRAC (port. 12 ) w/ your  STUDENT ID  !!  Registration times are 1st recess, lunch recess, and after school.  DO NOT SEND STUDENTS DURING CLASS TIME.  Any questions, come to GRAC.   - N. SEEKING TALENT ACTS FOR VARIETY SHOW

All talented Warriors, listen up!  Get your acts and ideas together and be listening for announcements when we all get back from the October intercession.  An organizational meeting for Talent Acts will be held soon after we return.  This year's Variety Show will be held on Sunday, February 8.  Performers need to also be available for the mass dress rehearsal on Saturday, Feb. 7.  Mark the dates and start planning and rehearsing!   - M. SAT TESTING

JUST A REMINDER !!   The first SAT Testing is scheduled for Saturday, October 4th. at the Waiakea High School Cafeteria. Don't forget your student ID. or State ID. Testing will begin promptly at 7:45a.m. Any questions, come to GRAC. - N. Okinaka

PSAT TESTING -  Is scheduled for Saturday, October 18th, starting promptly at 7:30am. in the Waiakea High School Cafeteria.  It's still not too late to register !!  Last day to register is Friday, October 3rd !!  Hurry!!   Hurry !!  Space is still available !  It's FREE !!  FREE !   FREE !!  Come by  GRAC - Port. 12 to register during morning recess, lunch recess and after school along w/ your student ID. MEMORIAL DAY LEI CONTEST:

Congratulations to Waiakea High School for placing first in the 2008 Memorial Day Lei Statewide Contest.  WHS contributed a total of 4,750 lei to win first in the Most Lei category.  We will be presented with an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo Computer next month.  Way to go, Warriors!  Let's continue the tradition! - D. GATES MILLENNIUM SCHOLARS

This scholarship is available to Seniors who are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American with a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better.  Other criteria include enrolling at an accredited college or university full-time beginning in the fall of 2009.  Applicants must demonstrate leadership via participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities.  Apply on-line at www.gmsp.org or come to GRAC for more information.  Paper applications must be postmarked by January 12, 2009.   - T. SPORTS

WATER POLO SIGN-UP

Sign-ups for WHS girls water-polo will be held Wed October 1 outside the WHS gym during lunch recess.  Information on a waterpolo clinic during the fall intersession will also be distributed.  - T. Correa

 

MEETINGS

VARIETY SHOW CLASS ACT CHAIRPERSONS

The four class act chairpersons for the Variety Show need to attend a mandatory meeting Thurs. Oct. 2 in Room C-204 at lunch recess to discuss theme and guidelines for the Variety Show Class Act competition.  If for any reason you cannot make it, either send a representative or see Michael Haili or Miss Ellsworth.  Let the planning begin! - M. ART CLUB

Meeting will be held on Friday, October 3, in room H-101, during lunch.  The agenda will include the t-shirt design and ideas for upcoming events.  - S. Shiigi

 

PAAC CUB

All who signed up for PAAC Club (and anyone else interested) please attend a very important meeting on THURSDAY, Oct. 2, during morning recess, in C-201. We've received very important information regarding a Fall conference in Honolulu. Please attend!!! mahalo - L. Kamalani

SGA CONGRESS MEETING:

There will be an SGA Congress meeting this Thursday, Oct. 2 beginning at 10:15 am in the cafeteria.  All social studies reps, service club and class presidents and SGA chairpersons, please attend. - D. Tanabe

JAPANESE_AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY

There will be a meeting to learn how to do flower arrangement.   The  activity will start at 11:5o in C-103 please come as quickly as you can so we can start and end on time.  - L. Otsubo
