GENERAL

COLLEGE PRESENTATION

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA  -   A representative from USC will be doing a presentation  in GRAC on Monday, October 13, 2008 at 11:00am. USC is a private 4 - yr. university, located 3 mi. from downtown. SAT & SAT  subject test or ACT recommended.

LEHIGH UNIVERSITY  -  A representative from Lehigh University which is located about 50mi. from Pennsylvania, 75mi. from New York City, will be doing a presentation on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 11:15a.m. in GRAC.  For more information or to sign up for a pass, come to GRAC (port. 12). - N. HOMECOMING PARADE:

The Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, starting at 3:30 p.m. at the Kawamoto Swim Stadium.  All marchers will need a permission form.  Get your form from your respective class chairperson or head advisor.  Fill out a form today! - D. Tanabe

SENIOR SERVICE PROJECT

Help the Food Basket by bringing in canned good items for our Homecoming Service Project.  Bring in 5 (FIVE) canned goods to GRAC by Wednesday, Sept. 24th & you can earn a point towards a Commencement ticket.    - T. Kawada

PSAT REGISTRATION

PSAT REGISTRATION  - Is  FREE !  FREE !!   FREE !!!  to students from 9th to 11th grade !!!  REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH. THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER WILL BE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3RD.  PSAT TESTING IS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2008 AT THE WHS CAFE. PROMPTLY AT 7:30 A.M.  To register for the test, come to GRAC (port. 12 ) w/ your  STUDENT ID  !!  Registration times are 1st recess, lunch recess, and after school.  DO NOT SEND STUDENTS DURING CLASS TIME.  Any questions, come to GRAC.   - N. FRANCE

There will be a meeting in H-102 on Monday, September 22 for all students who will be going to France during spring break. - K. Dinges

ATM  WORKING  PROPERLY!

The Waiakea SFF Student Credit Union's ATM is finally accepting cards from other institutions with a $1.00 service fee.  Stop by to withdraw funds in B-201 using our ATM and thank you for supporting Waiakea's credit union. - S. Kojima

Homecoming 2008 begins today!  Come to the gym and sit in your respective grade level section during the Opening Rally.  Cheer loud and be proud!  Tomorrow is Rock Star Day.  Dress as a rock star and be eligible for a gift card from PKP.  Get spirited, Warriors! - D. Tanabe

WIN THE ULTIMATE PROM

To all students:  Do you want to help the Senior Class get $25,000?  Go online to wintheultimateprom.com & register as a voter.  Vote for Waiakea High School from today through November 15.  You can vote once a day.  Voters must be 13 & older, so get parents and friends to register & vote.  UNDERCLASSMEN:  WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!  If we win, prizes will be given to the classes who voted.  Waiakea High is up against all other High School's in the nation so VOTE EVERY DAY so we can win $25,000. - T. FRESHMAN CLASS T-SHIRT

The first order of shirts have sold out so we will be taking orders for a second order.  If you would like to have the red dragon shirt, see Mrs. Uyeda in D-203 for an order form.  All orders must be turned in by this Friday, Sept. 26th.  Thank you! - K. Uyeda

GIRL'S GOLF

Sign up for girl's golf will be on Tuesday, 9/23 in P-16 during lunch recess. - R. Shikuma

CANOE PADDLING SIGN-UP

Boys and Girls  Canoe Paddling sign-ups will be held Thurs 9/25 in front of the WHS gym during lunch recess - T. Correa

 

MEETINGS

FRESHMAN IN THE HOMECOMING PARADE

Freshmen who are marching in the parade need to meet in D-203 on Friday 9/19 and Wed., 9/24 during first recess to plan and practice what we are doing in the parade.  If you have any questions, see Sherilyn or Liann.  Thank you! - K. Uyeda
