GENERAL

COLLEGE PRESENTATIONS

LINFIELD COLLEGE  -  is a private 4 yr. business & liberal arts college, located 38 mi. from Portland. Will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Monday, October 20, at 9:30a.m. (pd. 2).

PACIFIC U -  is a private 4 yr. university, located 25mi. from Portland. Will be doing a college presentation on Monday, October 20, at 11:00 a.m. in GRAC (port. 12). recess/pd. 4.

If interested in any of these presentations, come to GRAC to sign up for a pass. - N. Okinaka

STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

For those of you who use the bus services as transportation to and/or from school a notice was sent to you informing you that your permanent bus pass is in the office.  Please come to the office ASAP before school starts from 7:45 – 8:15 am and during morning recess. Don’t wait ‘till the bus driver starts asking for your permanent bus pass. - M. Abraham

PSAT REGISTRATION

PSAT REGISTRATION - Is FREE ! FREE ! FREE !  to students from 9th to 11th grade,  PSAT REGISTRATION WILL BEGIN ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH. LAST DAY TO REGISTER WILL BE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3RD.  PSAT TESTING IS SCHEDULED FOR  SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2008 AT THE WHS CAFE. PROMPTLY AT 7:45 A.M.  To register for the test, come to GRAC (PORT.12) w/ your STUDENT ID. Registration times are 1st recess, lunch recess, and after school. DO NOT SEND STUDENTS DURING CLASSTIME.  Any questions, come to GRAC.    - N. Okinaka

OPT-OUT NONDISCLOSURE REQUEST-

mailing deadline is Sept 15th! If a student wants demographic information w/held from military recruiters or anyone else, forms need to be turned in on Friday, Sept 12th, to R101, Registrar's office. - M. Masaki

VIDEOGRAPHERS NEEDED

 Do you want a memory of this year's Homecoming, including our always popular  Male Cheerleading contest?  Volunteer to videotape and edit the week's events.   We have no video production class or advisor to take care of this very important job.  See Mrs. Kobayashi in the library as soon as possible if you are interested.   - G. 9/11 REMEMBRANCE RALLY:

Wear red, white and blue tomorrow as we come together  during lunch recess in the quad and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 tragedy. We will also honor our public servants and military men and women who sacrifice their lives daily for our freedom. - D. Tanabe

CLASS OF 2011 PANDAS:

Homecoming is right around the corner!  Get a copy of the cheer from Chad Hara, a parade form from Alyssalyn Buyuan, buy your class t-shirt next week, and bring in your canned goods for the service project as soon as possible to U-101.  Get involved, Pandas! - L. Takahashi

Homecoming Week is right around the corner.  Get involved with your class by learning your class cheer, wearing your class shirt or class colors, bringing in canned goods for the service project and marching in the Homecoming Parade.  If you have any questions, see your respective class head advisor.    - D. SENIOR SHARKS

We still have a few Macy's tickets for sale.  Sell one ticket for $5 & earn a point towards a Commencement ticket.  Our class also earns $5 for each ticket sold.  Come to GRAC during morning or lunch recess. - T. Kawada

SENIOR SERVICE PROJECT

Help the Food Basket by bringing in canned good items for our Homecoming Service Project.  Bring in 5 (FIVE) canned goods to GRAC by Wednesday, Sept. 24th & you can earn a point towards a Commencement ticket.    - T. Kawada

GIRLS SOCCER

To all soccer girls:  There will be a meeting on September 18th @ 3:30pm by the Gym regarding fundraising for Oahu Pre-season tournament. - E. Hagiwara

FRESHMEN HOMECOMING PARADE

Hey you spirited Dragons! If you  want to participate in this year's homecoming parade please pick up a permission slip from Mrs. Uyeda in D-203.  All forms need to be returned to her before the parade. - K. Uyeda

SENIORS HELPING WITH HOMECOMING SHIELDS

There will be a work meeting on Wednesday, September 10, during lunch recess in Q202.  Please make an effort to attend and help your class get the shields ready for homecoming. - C. Ray

JAPANESE-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY

There will be a mtg. on Sept. 10.  All officers please attend so that you can sign the bank card.  Derrick Takase, remember to come to the meeting.  The meeting will start promptly at 12:00, in rm. C-103.   - L. Otsubo

SGA CONGRESS MEETING:

There will be an SGA Congress meeting today, 11:20 am in the cafeteria for all SGA chairpersons, class & service club presidents, and social studies representatives. - D. Tanabe

CLASS OF 2011 HOMECOMING CHAIRPERSONS:

There will be an important meeting for all Class of 2011 (Pandas) Homecoming chairpersons during lunch recess today in E-103.     - D. Tanabe

PAAC CLUB

All members of the Pacific Asian Affairs Council (PAAC) CLUB please attend our organizational meeting on Thursday, Sept. 11, during morning recess in C-201. It is important for you to get your registraton forms for future trips. Please also bring any other students interested in global affairs and state-wide competitions. mahalo - L. Kamalani
