QUIT SMOKING!

Smoking Fact of the Day: The cost of a pack of cigarettes averages around $4.49, so smoking a pack-a-day burns about $31.43 per week and about $1, 635 per year. Come to the quad on September 3rd during lunch recess and join Kat & Keala's lunch mix to QUIT SMOKING (N.O.T. Program). - S. Kojima

SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM - MEAL APPLICATIONS

All meal applications for this school year need to be turned in to the school office by Friday, 9/5/08. Effective on Wednesday, 9:10/08, students without a current approved application on file will have to pay 35 cents for breakfast and $1.25 for lunch. Please see Mrs. Frances in the school office if there are any concerns or questions. - F. Kaauamo

GROMET FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is available to seniors who come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, with a GPA of 3.5 or above, planning to enroll in a 4 year college or university. $1,500 annually for students attending Hawaii universities and $5,000 annually for students attending mainland universities. Applications must be post marked or e-mailed by Monday, October 20th. Applications and more information available in GRAC. - T. Kawada

2008 FEDERAL SURVEY CARDS:

students who receive a card need to return it, completed and signed by parent or legal guardian, the next day or BY FRIDAY, SEPT 5th to your pd 1 teacher. If your parent or legal guardian work for or work/live on Federal property and you didn't get a card, come to R101 ASAP. - M. Masaki

LIBRARY CLOSED WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY

The library will be closed September 3 and 5 due to Big Island Student Conference and District Librarians' Meetings. Overdue notices will be sent out this week, so please return your books! - G. Kobayashi

2008 FEDERAL SURVEY CARDS:

Instructions will be placed in your boxes prior to Sept 2nd. Please look it over and distribute cards or letters during pd 1 on Sept 2nd. Students whose parent/guardian works for or work/live on Federal property are the only ones w/ the cards, ALL OTHERS shld get the blue letter. If any student qualifies and didn't get a card, send the student to the Registrar's office in R101. Some parents/guardians may have been afflicated w/ the Federal govt and no longer qualifies, but ALL cards need to be returned the next day or on SEPT 5TH. Make sure the returned cards is signed by the parent or legal guardian. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation. - M. Masaki
