GENERAL

STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

If you submitted a bus application during the summer please come to the office and pick up your permanent bus pass. If you didn't complete an application and need transportaion to and/or from school, come to the office and pick up an application or you can go online. The address is http://fms-1st.k12.hi.us/SBT/home.aspx. -

FRESHMAN ELECTIONS:

Freshmen interested in running for office are required to fill in nomination forms.   All candidates must attend a mandatory meeting during morning recess in E-103 and forms must be turned in at this time.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Tanabe in E-103. - D. Tanabe

FREE BOOK COVERS:

Free Waiakea High School book covers are available in E-103.  Please take only what you need.   - D. Tanabe

CLUB DAY:

Got spirit?  Want to get involved in school activities?  Come to the quad during lunch recess on Friday, Aug. 8 and check out the many clubs and class activities that we offer at Waiakea High School.  Questions?  Come to E-103. - D. Tanabe

FRESHMAN ELECTION RALLY:

There will be an election rally for all freshmen during Advisory period on Weds., Aug 6.  If you have freshmen at this time, please come to the cafeteria with your students.   - D. Tanabe

SCHOOL PRIDE DAY:

Wear school logo attire on Weds. and be eligible to win a Prince Kuhio Plaza gift card.  Come to E-103 and sign up before morning recess. - D. Tanabe

STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Students who use bus services to and/or from school the bus drivers will be lenient during the first two weeks while your application is being processed. Beginning August 11, 2008, after the initial two weeks, bus drivers shall require all riders to display a valid bus pass.  - M. Abraham

SENIOR YEARBOOK INFORMATION

If you are a senior and you did not receive a senior information sheet detailing all senior yearbook deadlines for sayings, photos, ads, etc., please come to D-201 during morning or lunch recess to pick up a form. - K. Castillo

STUDENT FEES COLLECTION

The Finance Office will collect student fees from 7:45a. to 8:15a., Morning recess & lunch recess ONLY.  Teachers, DO NOT send students during class time.    - D. Yoshiyama

FRESHMAN CONNECTION LEADERS:

Please turn in your evaluations and mascot/class colors forms to E-103 by the end of today.   - D. Tanabe

 

MEETINGS

KEY CLUB

First meeting of the year for returning members only will be held on Tuesday (8/5).  Please attend so that you can get your membership forms and calendars.  We will also be discussing the upcoming Membership Development Week.  If you cannot attend, please submit your excuse note to your grade level board director.  Meeting will be in Mrs. Sato's room during lunch. - K. Sato

ARCHFILE

The Japanese cultural Center of Hawai`i's (JCCH) traveling exhibit, Gokurosama: contemporary Photographs of the Nisei in Hawai`i will be on display at the Lyman Museum from Aug. 15, 2008 to October 15, 2008.

Teacher workshop August 9, 2008 international year of astronomy

UH-Manoa will be offering an online postbaccalaureate certificate in secondary math & science (OPBCSE) towards teacher certification. - M. Respicio

CLUB DAY:

If you are a club or head class advisor, please join us on Friday, Aug. 8, lunch recess in the quad for Club Day.  Let me know if you are interested in reserving a table for your club or class. - D. Tanabe
