GENERAL

STUDENT REMINDER

The office bathrooms are available ONLY for students who have a class in the office or the library.  Students are responsible for their belongings at all times.  Please be reminded that custodians will NOT open any classroom after school to assist in retrieving items.  Lastly, the office is not a shortcut to the library, all students must enter and exit through the main library door.  Thank you. - M. 2009-10 COURSE SCHEDULE PICK UP:

will be available on Wednesday, July 22 (last names A-K) and Thursday, July 23 (last names L-Z) from 9:00 - 1:00 pm at the cafeteria lanai. Payments to be collected: Yearbook $50 ($5 extra for name engraving), student fees $27 for juniors/seniors and $26 for sophomores/freshmen, book locker $5 and lunch account deposit (any amount). Separate payments by cash or check are requested, payable to Waiakea High School. Campus tour guides, NJROTC information, student parking applications ($5) Student credit union and PTSA ($15) sign-ups will also be available.  Call the Registrar's office at 974-4888 x 241 from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm for further questions or concerns. - M. STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Once your application has been approved and payment is required, you may make payment on July 22nd and 23rd during registration. - M. Abraham

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

THE PHILIPPINE WOMENS ALLIANCE OF HI. SCHOLARSHIP  -  Hawaii residents who are high school graduating seniors who have applied to post-secondary accredited colleges, universities, including community colleges, in the United States of America.

Must be able to to establish financial need. Copy of 2007 or 2008  Federal tax return. G.P.A. -3.5 or above. Deadline:  June 8th. Please turn in all completed applications to Mrs. Sakai-Kawada. Do Not Mail In . For an application or for more information, come to GRAC.  - N. Okinaka

CONGRATULATIONS NEW SIERRA STUDENT COALITION OFFICERS FOR 2009-2010

President Hollie Lambert, Vice President Ian Peters, Treasurer Joyce Dvorak, and Secretary Emilie Kuyat. All Club members please come to M103 for the year end party on June 4th and say goodbye to our  Seniors.  - A. Kelly

CLASS DAY IS NEXT WEDS.:

All students are encouraged to wear their class t-shirts or class colors on Class Day, Weds., June 3rd.  Come and picnic in the quad during lunch and listen to some awesome music.  Show your class spirit and Warrior pride! - D. Tanabe

SENIORS

Seniors, if you are planning on walking the line at commencement, you MUST have a cap and gown!  If you have STILL NOT picked up your cap and gown, please do so before Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from Mrs. Sato's room (Q201).  Please make sure ALL obligations are cleared before picking up your cap and gown. - K. EXCUSED ABSENCES

If you would like to have your absences considered to be excused, the last day to submit documentation for consideration is Tuesday, June 2 for SENIORS and Thursday, June 4 for UNDERCLASSMEN. Submitting a doctor's note, etc., will not guarantee an exemption. Notes will only be accepted for absences that occurred during 4th quarter beginning on April 6. SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Still looking for that summer job?  Earn $7.25 per hour!  Must be between 16-24 years old and meet income standards.  See Ms. Yanagisawa in P4 for info and application. - P. Yanagisawa

MATH LEAGUE

All math league members are invited to our annual end of year pizza party and vote for next year's officers Wednesday Jun. 3 in R206.  Bring your vote and your hunger.  - K. Anderson

CURRENT JUNIORS IN AP LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION

If you have not yet turned in your 50 Essays and English textbook in to Mrs. Ray, please do so ASAP.  There are students who need your 50 Essays before the end of the week. - C. Ray

NEXT YEAR JUNIORS TAKING AP LANGUAGE AND COMPOSITION

If you were one of the students who did NOT get your 50 Essays book on Friday, please see Mrs. Ray by the end of this week for your copy.  Hopefully, the current juniors will have returned them all to me by then. Thank you for your patience. - C. Ray
