GENERAL

REGISTRAR'S OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 Report card pick up - June 22 at the Registrar's office, final transcripts for Seniors - bring in addressed, stamped (44 cents) envelope by June 15th (do not write in a return address), transferring student not returning for 2009-10 should have a parent come in to sign a release before school ends in June, summer school attendees - those attending summer school should bring in a course confirmation receipt ASAP; this is ongoing until 4:00 pm Thursday, July 23, 2009, new incoming students (outside of Waiakea complex) living in the Waiakea district - should provide 2 proofs of residence and a release packet (public/private) or transcript, health record, birth certificate (out-of-state schools) after final grades are finalized, and call for a registration appointment.   Call 974-4888 x 241 from 7:30 am - 4:00 pm daily. - M. AFTER-SCHOOL CONCESSION

Hungry??  Check out the after-school concession starting May 18-29 in E103.  Daily specials include:  double-cheeseburger, pizza,, McChicken sandwiches, soft tacos, and hot dogs.   - P. Yanagisawa

JUNIOR AP ENGLISH FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR

If you signed up for Junior AP English (Language and Composition) for next year, please attend a mandatory meeting during lunch recess on Friday, May 29, in Q202.  You will receive your summer homework and other information.  Please see Mrs. Ray prior to that day if you are unable to attend on May 29. - C. STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Pre-registration for school bus transportation services during the 2009-2010 School Year has begun. Current bus riders don't forget to pick up an application from your bus driver or come to the office for an application.  If, after reading the handbook carefully, you decide to apply for a 2009-2010 bus pass, submit your completed application form to the bus driver or school office before May 29, 2009. Do not attach payment to the application. Payments cannot be processed until after your bus pass application is approved. You can check on the status of your application by logging on to our website at http://iportal.k12.hi.us/SBT/home.aspx. or by calling the school office at 974-4888 ext. 223.  - M. Abraham

SATURDAY SCHOOL

Did you miss out on attending Saturday School this past Saturday? Your last chance to make absences will be this Saturday, May 30 from 8:00am-12:20pm in the school cafeteria. Please bring your student ID to have admission into the sessions. All school rules apply. If you have any questions or need to know your current attendance status please see Mrs. Kiyonaga in P-4. - L. Kiyonaga

NJROTC UBNIFORM TURN IN

All students who still have NJROTC uniforms, please turn in to NJROTC office NO LATER THAN 29 May. - LCDR A. Schlegelmilch

SOUND CREW MEETING

There will be a Sound Crew meeting Wednesday, May 27 at lunchtime in R-102.  Lunch will be served, as long as it lasts.  Sound Crew members: please bring a recruit for next school year. - A. Roberts

TELEPHONE BOOK RECYCLE DRIVE:

Tomorrow is the last day to turn in your telephone books to your respective head advisors.  If you have a lot, bring your phone books down to Orchid Isle Rubbish &  Recycle on Railroad Ave.  Make sure to get a receipt for Waiakea High School, and the number of books that you turned in.  Bring the receipt to E-103 as soon as possible.  Right now the Class of 2011 is the only class that turned in a receipt. - D. SENIOR AWARDS:

Did anyone lose their umbrella on the night of  Senior Awards?  If yes, please come to E-103 to claim. - D. Tanabe

ACTIVITY SERVICE POINTS:  

All chairpersons should turn in their (blue) service point forms today to E-103 for activities that were held this school year. Do not deny any classmate a chance to receive a service award.   Commencement service point forms may be turned in after the activity, by June 8.  They will be credited for next year.  Any questions, please come to E-103. - D. PICKUP REMINDER!

Just a reminder! if you purchased any tickets for chocolate dipped sprinkled pretzels from Delightfully Dipped or Li Hing Mui treats from Sweet Li Hing Paradise, pick up date is on June 1 & 2 ( next week Monday & Tuesday) after-school in B-201 (Mrs. Kojima's Room).  Thank you for supporting the Business Academy's marketing program. - S. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

THE PHILIPPINE WOMEN'S ALLIANCE OF HI. SCHOLARSHIP  -  Hawaii residents who are high school graduating seniors who have applied to post-secondary accredited colleges, universities, including community colleges, in the United States of America.

Must be able to to establish financial need. Copy of 2007 or 2008  Federal tax return. G.P.A. -3.5 or above. Deadline:  June 8th. Please turn in all completed applications to Mrs. Sakai-Kawada. Do Not Mail In . For an application or for more information, come to GRAC.  - N. Okinaka

MEETINGS

ALL CURRENT 10TH GRADERS REGISTERED FOR HONORS ENGLISH III FOR 2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR!

Please come to C-202 starting the last 10 minutes of Advisory period for a mandatory meeting regarding the summer assignment. Although it will be short, it will probably flow into the beginning of morning recess. Mahalo! P.S.
