GENERAL

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION

Yearbook Distribution will take place from May 26-29, 2009.  For that reason, it is important that you clear all obligations prior to May 15, 2009.  Distribution will take place in D-201 during lunch recess only.  All students should check the list on the door of D-201 in order to see if they purchased a yearbook.  If your name is listed, you will only need to bring a valid picture ID in order to pick up your book.  Distribution days are as follows:

 

Tuesday, May 26, 2009- Seniors

Wednesday, May 27, 2009- Juniors

Thursday, May 28, 2009- Sophomores and Freshmen

Friday, May 29, 2009- All grades

 

If you did not purchase a yearbook, they will be available for purchase on May 29, 2009 during lunch recess in D-201.  You must bring $50.00 cash in order to purchase it at that time. - K. Castillo

SENIOR WEEK

Hey Seniors!  Don't forget!  This week is SHARK WEEK!  Show your class spirit and participate in all the week's festivities.

TODAY is "Future Friday".  Dress up as you see yourself 10 years from now & bring memorabilia to put in our time capsule! - T. Kawada

SENIOR HONORS ENGLISH SUMMER HOMEWORK MEETING ON FRIDAY

IF YOU SIGNED UP FOR SENIOR HONORS ENGLISH NEXT YEAR, PLEASE ATTEND A MANDATORY MEETING DURING LUNCH RECESS ON FRIDAY, MAY 22, IN R205.  YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR SUMMER HOMEWORK.  SEE MRS. NAUNGAYAN PRIOR TO THAT DAY IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND ON FRIDAY.  - S. Naungayan

SATURDAY SCHOOL

Did you miss out on attending Saturday School this past weekend? You still have two more chances to make up your absences. The last two Saturday Schools of the year will be May 23 and May 30 from 8:00am-12:20pm in the school cafeteria. Please bring your student ID to have admission into the sessions. All school rules apply. If you have any questions or need to know your current attendance status please see Mrs. Kiyonaga in P4. - L. Kiyonaga

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

HILO JAYCEES SCHOLARSHIP  -  Recipients must be involved in at least one extracurricular or community based organization that provides volunteer based services to the community.  GPA - 3.0.  Applicant must have plans to be attending a 4 - yr. college in the State of Hawaii.  SAR report, essay, college acceptance letter required.  Deadline: June 3, 2009.  For more infor/application, come to GRAC.  - N. We are still collecting last year's phone books for our annual drive.  Drop them off in P4 by May 29. - P. Yanagisawa

JUNIOR AP ENGLISH FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR

If you signed up for Junior AP English (Language and Composition) for next year, please attend a mandatory meeting during lunch recess on Friday, May 29, in Q202.  You will receive your summer homework and other information.  Please see Mrs. Ray prior to that day if you are unable to attend on May 29. - C. STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Pre-registration for school bus transportation services during the 2009-2010 School Year has begun. Current bus riders don't forget to pick up an application from your bus driver or come to the office for an application.  If, after reading the handbook carefully, you decide to apply for a 2009-2010 bus pass, submit your completed application form to the bus driver or school office before May 29, 2009. Do not attach payment to the application. Payments cannot be processed until after your bus pass application is approved. You can check on the status of your application by logging on to our website at http://iportal.k12.hi.us/SBT/home.aspx. or by calling the school office at 974-4888 ext. 223.  - M. Abraham

WAY TO GO, WARRIORS!

Our 2009 Memorial Day lei count was a whopping 6,463 lei; 1,700 more than last year!  All classes stepped up to the challenge and made more than last year, and the freshmen made a statement by donating 1,162 lei.  The upperclassmen totals were:  717 sophomores, 2,648 juniors, and 1,936 seniors.  Good job to all chairpersons, their committee members and classmates who donated ti leaves and/or lei.    - D. 2009-2010 SENIOR AP ENGLISH STUDENTS

Students who registered for Senior AP English next year, please come to a mandatory meeting Friday, May 22 in U-304 during lunch recess.  You will receive info about the summer assignment and other important news.  If you cannot attend, see
