GENERAL

YEARBOOK DISTRIBUTION

Yearbook Distribution will take place from May 26-29, 2009. For that reason, it is important that you clear all obligations prior to May 15, 2009. Distribution will take place in D-201 during lunch recess only. All students should check the list on the door of D-201 in order to see if they purchased a yearbook. If your name is listed, you will only need to bring a valid picture ID in order to pick up your book. Distribution days are as follows:

 

Tuesday, May 26, 2009- Seniors

Wednesday, May 27, 2009- Juniors

Thursday, May 28, 2009- Sophomores and Freshmen

Friday, May 29, 2009- All grades

 

If you did not purchase a yearbook, they will be available for purchase on May 29, 2009 during lunch recess in D-201. You must bring $50.00 cash in order to purchase it at that time. - K. Castillo

CLASS OF 2012 COMMITTEE CHAIR SIGN-UP

All those interested in signing up to chair a committe for the 2009-2010 school year please sign-up in Mrs. Uyeda's room by Thursday, May 21st and you will be considered for the position. - K. Uyeda

TENNIS COURTS OPEN

Effective immediately, the Waiakea High School tennis courts will be open to all students on Tuesdays and Thursdays for free play. Courts will open at 4 o'clock and close at 6 pm. Students need to supply their own tennis racquet and balls. Also, non-marking tennis shoes are required. - J. Higa

HUNGRY?

Please come and support DECA's Delightfully Dipped Company by buying chocolate dipped sprinkled pretzel bags from B-201. The bags will include 5 chocolate dipped sprinkled pretzels for $3.50. Tickets will be sold from May 14th -26th from any DECA member and at B-201. The pick up dates will be on June 1st and 2nd after school at B-201. COMMENCEMENT TICKETS

SENIORS: Stop by E-103 on TUESDAY, 5/19 during lunch recess to pick up your first set of Commencement tickets. ALL OBLIGATIONS NEED TO BE CLEARED in order to pick up your tickets. - T. Kawada

NAVY PRESENTATION

Imagine a college campus that floats and flies ? In the Navy, you can earn college credits on base. Even at sea. Navy ships have accredited instructors on board who teach college-level course work. Travel coast to coast. Interested ? If you are, Petty Officer Aaron Tolintino from the Navy will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 9:30am. The Navy could be an option after graduation. Come to GRAC to sign up for a pass if interested. - N. Okinaka

REBAG SALE

Roayl blue and bright green fabric recycle bags are still available in D-203 for $3.00 and black thermal bags may be purchased for $6.00. Bags make great gifts! Thermal bags are perfect for traveling to carry local foods. Thanks for supporting the Class of 2012 with their fundraising and helping to go green. - K. Uyeda

IN LIBRARY USE ONLY

Reminder that all library materials will become overdue on Friday, May 15. No more books will be circulated. All materials must be used in the library. This is to make sure that all obligations are cleared for yearbook distribution and graduation. If you already have overdue materials, please return or pay for them. Thank you. - G. Kobayashi

Everyone in our Warrior ohana (students, faculty & staff) are encouraged to participate in Waiakea High School's Memorial Day Lei effort. Please donate ti leaves or already made lei to your respective grade level. We need everyone's support to hit the statewide goal of 50,000 lei. - D. Tanabe

9TH GRADE CLASS COUNCIL MEETING

All 9th grade class council representatives please attend the mandatory class council meeting on Thursday, May 14th in Mrs. Uyeda's room at 12:25pm - K. Uyeda

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY (GR 11-12) MEMBERS:

There will be a meeting on Friday, May 15, during lunch recess in Rm R-204. Please be prompt. Meeting will start at 11:35. Agenda: Election of new officers (09-10) , selection of committee members and summer schedule pick assistance. - J. Nekoba
