GENERAL

ICE CREAM SALE!!!

We still have some left over ice cream and frozen yogurt from the dessert fair. Only $1.00. They are homemade from our food service kitchen. Flavors are Chocolate Ice Cream, Vanilla Ice Cream, Coconut Ice Cream, Peach Frozen Yogurt, and Chocolate Frozen Yogurt. Come to I-103 to inquire. Hurry limited supply! - P. Gutzeit

FOOD DRIVE:

Mahalo to those who donated to the annual statewide food drive.  Waiakea High School donated a total of $50 and 354 pounds of non-perishable food items.  Thank you again for generously helping those in need on the Big Island.   - D. Tanabe

SERVICE ACTIVITY FORMS:

All chairpersons are reminded to turn in the service activity point forms (blue half sheet) to E-103 by the following dates:  Seniors - Tues., May 12; underclassmen, Fri., May 22.   - D. Tanabe

PUBLIC & HUMAN SERVICES ACADEMY EXCURSION:

All PHS Academy students who will be attending the excursion on Monday, please report to your pd. 1 class first for attendance and report to the bus ramp by 8:45 am.  Don't forget to wear your PHS t-shirt!     - D. Tanabe

TELEPHONE BOOK DRIVE:

The annual Hawaiian Telcom Phone Book Drive is ON!  At WHS this is a class competition so turn in your old phone books to your respective advisor or take your telephone books down directly to Orchid Island Rubbish and Recycling at 485 Railroad Ave.  Don't forget to ask for a receipt for the amount of books turned in and bring the receipt to E-103 for class credit.  The phone book drive ends at the end of the month so don't procrastinate.  Collect phone books from your neighbors, relatives, etc. and get credit for your class!  The class who turns in the most phone books will receive $100 from SGA. - D. PROJECT GRADUATION

Hey Senior Sharks!  Next week Friday is the early registration deadline for Project Graduation.  If you want to be entered for the incentive prize drawing and get the exclusive Project Grad shirt, get your form and payment in to Mrs. Sato by the 15th.  Mrs. Sato will not be here today, please drop off at the office or wait until Monday.  We now are over 100 participants signed up!  Check out the list of names on the door at Q-201! - K. SUMMER SCHOOL PE COURSES:

Body Conditioning and Ind/Dual Sports are being offered this summer.  Both courses can be used to satisfy the 1/2 credit requirement for gr. 10 PE and the Health and Fitness Academy PE elective.  Pick up an application from your counselor, C101, R101 or the main office.   - J. Nekoba

SOFTBALL TEAM AT STATES::

Good luck to our undefeated softball team as they compete in next week's HHSAA Softball Championship on Oahu.  Go Warriors! - D. Tanabe

BIIF DIV. I & II VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS:

Come out and watch some great volleyball games today and tomorrow at our Warrior gym.  Our boys will be playing Kea'au at 6:00 pm tonight. - D. Tanabe

 

MEETINGS

¡SPANISH CLUB WEEK!

Spanish Club Week will be May 5-8 during lunch recesses.  Tuesday will be Cinco de Mayo and tacos, Wed. is the quesadilla eating contest, Thurs. is a scavenger hunt and nachos, Friday we will have a piñata and potluck AFTER SCHOOL.  Shirts will also be distributed that week!  No vemos! - S. Kiriu

ART CLUB

Meeting this Friday, May 8, 2009, in H101 during lunch. We will be working on end of the year projects.   Please be prompt - S. Shiigi
