To all Seniors-

Please support your class and donate your phonebooks to the Senior Phonebook Drive! Starting on April 6th, 2009, please drop off your phonebooks at Mr. Mau's room E-102 every Monday and Wednesday before school and during morning recess. Those who donate 10 phonebooks will receive 1 point towards a commencement ticket. - K. Sato


If you are interested in ordering a 2009 yearbook, please come by D-201 during lunch recess from April 20-24, 2009. This is your LAST chance to order a book. All remaining books will be sold after yearbooks have been distributed to all students in 9th-12th grade that ordered books. As a reminder, the yearbook is $50.00 and you can pay with cash or a check written for $50.00 to WHS. - K. Castillo

EARTH DAY - APRIL 22, 2009:

Display your artistic talent by creating a clothing design out of recycled materials and wear it to the quad during lunch recess for judging. All entrants will receive a gift and the winner will receive a PKP gift card. School dress standard does apply. - D. Tanabe

LAST CHANCE to sign up to take the Compass Placement Test for this school year here at WHS. If you are a SENIOR or Junior and are thinking of going to any communrity college in Hawaii or not, you should still consider taking this test. ALL community colleges in Hawaii REQUIRE the taking of this test for placement. Taking the test is FREE. Any Junior or Sophomore students thinking of taking Running Start (taking college courses while still in high school) next school year, you are REQUIRED to take the Compass Placement Test as well. Dragons are going GREEN just in time for Earth Day. Help us make a difference for our tomorrow by buying a reusable Waiakea High blue or bright green fabric tote bag for $3.00 or a black thermal bag for $6.00. It's a great way to show your Warrior pride and do your part to save the planet. The bags can be used to carry your books, groceries, and shopping items, or you could use them as gift bags. Bags are on sale from April 20 to May 20th in D-203 during lunch recess or afterschool. Limited supply so purchase your bags early! - K. Uyeda


First song practice for the MEN of the Class of 2009 will be on WEDNESDAY, April 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the GYM. Please bring your admission ticket and song lyrics. Doors close promptly at 2:00 p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Do you have a committed competitive spirit and like to travel with all expenses paid? Create a team of four to five students and sign up in D-102 to start online practicing for the consumer education competition. "Lifesmarts is brought to you by the State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and is run by the National Consumers League. Local partners include the Better Business Bureau Foundation, the Hawaii Credit Union League and the DOE."
