SHOP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION;

Each time you shop with your Maika'i Card at any Foodland or Sack N Save, you'll earn points for you and our school.  The more points we earn, the more scholarships we receive.  Help our school earn scholarships by visiting any Foodland or Sack N Save from now until March 24.    - D. Tanabe

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

BIG ISLAND ROAD RUNNERS  -  Applicant must be a member of a running team, preferably a distance runner. GPA of at least 2.5.  Amt. - $1,000.00 to one female and one male applicant.  Should you need additional infor. go to : http://www.bigislandroadrunners.org. YOUNG AT ART  

Congratulations to 10th grader Sarah Balcita.  She received an "Award of Recognition" for her pastel entitled "Volcano"  at the 21st Annual Juried Exhibition of Young at Art.  The awards ceremony and opening was held at the East Hawaii Cultural Council on March 7, 2009.  Sarah was one of only three recipients in this category in the high school division.  Also congrats goes out to all of the other twenty-one artworks  from Waiakea High School who were accepted in the show.   Young at Art is held every March at the East Hawaii Cultural Center in the celebration of  the National Youth Arts Month.  The show will continue until Thursday, March 26 and is open and free to the public. - S. WARRIOR SPIRIT...CATCH IT!

Spirit Week will start on Monday with Multiple Monday.  Dress up as twins, triplets, quadruplets, etc. and join us in the quad during lunch recess for a fashion show (with prizes) and a game of Twister.  There will be a limited supply of treats for everyone who participates.  Come on, Warriors, show your school spirit! - D. AUDITIONS FOR EMCEE FOR 2009 COMMENCEMENT

Today is the last day to pick up an application packet for auditions for this year's commencement emcee.  Please see Mrs. Sakai-Kawada in P-12 for the packet.  Auditions will be held Monday, March 16 at 2:45 pm in Q202.  If you have any questions, please see senior Kayla Kosaki, Mrs. Sakai-Kawada, or Mrs. Ray. - C. JAYVEE & VARSITY VOLLEYBALL:

Come out and support our Warrior teams as they face the Ka'u Trojans tomorrow night at our Warrior gym.  Jayvee starts at 6:00 p.m., varsity to follow. - D. Tanabe

FRESHMEN MAY DAY

Calling all freshmen who would like to perform for the class act for may day. We will be having a meeting/sign ups at B-101 during lunch. PLEASE come and represent the class of 2012. mahalos!    - N. Ballo

JAPANESE-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY

Meeting on Mar. 18 at lunch recess. Please be prompt and come with ideas to do projects.  Sorry we did not have a mtg. for such a long time.  Some snacks will be served.   - L. Otsubo
