GENERAL

MANDATORY DRIVER ED MEETING FOR MARCH SESSION STUDENTS

There will be a mandatory Driver Ed meeting for parent and student on Thursday, March 12, 6:30pm to 8:00 pm at the Waiakea High Library. Student and at least 1 parent must attend this meeting in order to take the driver ed class. - W. Yamauchi

 SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

MONSANTO HAWAII  -  Monsanto of HI is pleased to announce the 2009 Life Sciences Scholarships. A total of (10) scholarships of $1,000. Applicant must be interested in pursuing a degree in life sciences--including agriculture, agronomy, biology, botany, genetics, horticulture, plant physiology, chemistry, crop/soil science --are encouraged to apply. HAWAII STUDENT SUITES (STUDENT HOUSING)

Hawaii Student Suites provide student housing for :  Chaminade U, Hawaii Pacific U, Heald College, Honolulu Comm. College, Kapiolani Comm. College, Oahu Business &Technical College, UHManoa. Also, if you are a graduating fr. a High School in Hawaii, you qualify for our Kama'aina Scholarship (Housing). Singles:  $900.00, Doubles - $560.00. JR. BALL TABLE-SEATING & PICTURES

Table seating and picture-taking sign-ups will be held March 9-12 outside of E103 during lunch recess. There will be booths of 4 people or tables of 10. There are a limited numbers of booths so please come early. If you do not bring your bids, you will not be allowed to sign up. - Z. Igawa

SENIOR PROM SEATING AND PICTURE TAKING

Sign ups for seating and picture taking will be on Monday, March 9th thru Wednesday, March 11th during lunch recess in front of E-103.  Senior prom goers need to sign up for themselves and their guest.  Non-senior guests will not be allowed to sign up.  Bring your bids with you....NO BIDS, NO SEATING OR PICTURE TAKING SIGN UP.  Prom goers who do not sign up during this time will be assigned seats & picture taking times.  NO CHANGES will be allowed.  - T. SHOP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION:

We are still in fourteenth place, statewide, in the annual Sack 'N Save Shop for Higher Education campaign.  When you shop at Foodland or Sack 'N Save, designate your points to Waiakea High School.  The more points we earn, the more scholarships we receive.  The campaign ends on March 24. - D. COMMENCEMENT SONG LEADERS

Applications for Commencement Song Leader(s) are available in GRAC through Friday, 3/13.   Song leaders must be a graduating senior participating in Commencement.  Song leaders must also be available to attend ALL senior song practices.  Completed applications are due to Mrs. Sakai-Kawada by Friday, 3/13.  Auditions will be held the week of March 16th; specifics will be announced to all applicants.  See Kellie A. or Mrs. Sakai-Kawada for more information.    - T.
