GENERAL

FIRE EXPLORER PROGRAM

All interested  9th - 12th grade boys & girls !!  The Fire Explorer Program will allow you to experience what it takes to fill the boots of a Hawaii Fire Fighter/EMT.  If you would like to learn team work, leadership and independence, while having fun and earning a CPR/First Aid certification, then don't miss this informational presentation. When :  March 11, 2009  Where: GRAC (port.12), Time:  10:30 - 11:30am. If interested or for more information, come to GRAC for a pass.  - N. Okinaka

YOKOSO JAPAN TRIP

MANDATORY DRIVER ED MEETING FOR MARCH SESSION STUDENTS

There will be a mandatory Driver Ed meeting for parent and student on Thursday, March 12, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Waiakea High Library. Student and at least 1 parent must attend this meeting in order to take the driver ed class. - W. Yamauchi

 SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

MONSANTO HAWAII  -  Monsanto of HI is pleased to announce the 2009 Life Sciences Scholarships. A total of (10) scholarships of $1,000. Applicant must be interested in pursuing a degree in life sciences--including agriculture, agronomy, biology, botany, genetics, horticulture, plant physiology, chemistry, crop/soil science --are encouraged to apply. JR. BALL TABLE-SEATING & PICTURES

Table seating and picture-taking sign-ups will be held March 9-12 outside of E103 during lunch recess. There will be booths of 4 people or tables of 10. There are a limited numbers of booths so please come early. If you do not bring your bids, you will not be allowed to sign up. - Z. Igawa

BAND CHAMP SEMI-FINALS:

Support our school groups, Kaho'okane and Hilo Roots as they compete in this weekend's Big Island Band Champ Semi-Finals.   The event will take place on Saturday, March 7 at the AhFook-Chinen Auditorium at 7:00 pm.  Cost is $10 at the door or receive a $5 discount voucher when you purchase a Value Meal from Burger King.  Bands playing include: Jah'Ea, Hilo Roots, Violet Eclipse, Kaho'okane, Natural HI, Blank Minds, AsFault and special performance by Ten Feet.   - D. SENIOR PROM SEATING AND PICTURE TAKING

Sign ups for seating and picture taking will be on Monday, March 9th thru Wednesday, March 11th during lunch recess in front of E-103.  Senior prom goers need to sign up for themselves and their guest.  Non-senior guests will not be allowed to sign up.  Bring your bids with you....NO BIDS, NO SEATING OR PICTURE TAKING SIGN UP.  Prom goers who do not sign up during this time will be assigned seats & picture taking times.  NO CHANGES will be allowed.  - T. Viewpoints 2008-2009, Program #5 via DOE channel 56.  ViewPoints program #5, "Developing & Strengthening Partnerships to Support Student Achievement," Will focus on the support for students and families that are available during this economic recession.  The half-hour ViewPoints program will air on Tuesday @ 9 am and 9 pm & Thursdays & Fridays @ 5:30 pm on DOE cable channel 56 beginning March 3, 2009. - M.
