GENERAL

JUNIOR COUNTRY FAIR

The class of 2010 will be hosting the Junior Country Fair on Sat., March 7, 2009 from 9 am- 1-pm at the Waiakea High School Cafeteria.  Blane's bentos for $6 will also be sold.  If interested in purchasing one, please see Ms. Yanagisawa in P4. - P. Yanagisawa

SAT PREPARATION CLASS

College Connections Hawaii is offering free math and verbal SAT prep courses during Spring break/inter-session:  March 23-April 2 from 8:30-12:30 pm at the Waiakea High School library.  If interested, log on to their website:  www.collegeconnections.org or see Ms. Yanagisawa in P4 for more info - P. YOKOSO JAPAN TRIP

Learn more about Japanese culture, history, and language as you walk in the footsteps of  the Samurai in the ancient city of Kyoto.  Visit Tokyo and see the Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace Plaza, and the National Museum.  Then, spend the afternoon shopping on Nakamise Street.  Ride the bullet train to Mt. Fujii,  cruise Lake Ashi, and explore Nijo Castle.  Stay in 3 and 4-star hotels.  See the beauty of Japan in the Springtime as you travel in March of 2010.  See Mrs. Naungayan in R205 for brochure and price list.  Trip price is slated to increase on April 1, 2009, so put down the $150 payment to secure your price today. - S. MANDATORY DRIVER ED MEETING FOR MARCH SESSION STUDENTS

There will be a mandatory Driver Ed meeting for parent and student on Thursday, March 12, 6:30pm to 8:00 pm at the Waiakea High Library. Student and at least 1 parent must attend this meeting in order to take the Driver Ed class. - W. Yamauchi

JR. BALL TABLE-SEATING & PICTURES

Table seating and picture-taking sign-ups will be held March 9-12 outside of E103 during lunch recess. There will be booths of 4 people or tables of 10. There are a limited numbers of booths so please come early. If you do not bring your bids, you will not be allowed to sign up. - Z. Igawa

BAND CHAMP SEMI-FINALS:

Support our school groups, Kaho'okane and Hilo Roots as they compete in this weekend's Big Island Band Champ Semi-Finals.   The event will take place on Saturday, March 7 at the AhFook-Chinen Auditorium at 7:00 pm.  Cost is $10 at the door or receive a $5 discount voucher when you purchase a Value Meal from Burger King.  Bands playing include: Jah'Ea, Hilo Roots, Violet Eclipse, Kaho'okane, Natural HI, Blank Minds, As Fault and special performance by Ten Feet.   - D. SGA CONGRESS:

There will be an SGA Congress meeting today, starting at 10:15 am in the cafeteria.  All social studies reps, class and service club presidents and SGA chairpersons, please attend. - D. Tanabe

ARCHFILE

Viewpoints 2008-2009, Program #5 via DOE channel 56.  ViewPoints program #5, "Developing & Strengthening Partnerships to Support Student Achievement," Will focus on the support for students and families that are available during this economic recession.  The half-hour ViewPoints program will air on Tuesday @ 9 am and 9 pm & Thursdays & Fridays @ 5:30 pm on DOE cable channel 56 beginning March 3, 2009. - M.
