SHOP FOR HIGHER EDUCATION;

Each time you shop with your Maika'i Card at any Foodland or Sack N Save, you'll earn points for you and our school.  The more points we earn, the more scholarships we receive.  Help our school earn scholarships by visiting any Foodland or Sack N Save from now until March 24.    - D. Tanabe

JUNIOR COUNTRY FAIR

The class of 2010 will be hosting the Junior Country Fair on Sat., March 7, 2009 from 9 am- 1-pm at the Waiakea High School Cafeteria.  Blane's bentos for $6 will also be sold.  If interested in purchasing one, please see Ms. Yanagisawa in P4. - P. Yanagisawa

2009 CITIZENSHIP AWARD

SENIORS!!!  We need to select ONE senior who best represents Waiakea High School's Vision of a Public School Graduate for the 2009 Citizenship Award.  Interested seniors, come to GRAC for an application form and more information.  Completed applications and letters of reference are due to Mrs. Sakai-Kawada on Monday, March 16, 2009. - T. JUNIOR BALL BIDS

Jr. Ball bids will be on sale March 1-4 during lunch recess in front of E103. March 4th will be the last day. Do not procrastinate! Couples must buy bids together, and all obligations must be cleared. Table seating and picture-taking sign-ups will be March 9-12.  - Z. Igawa

SAT PREPARATION CLASS

College Connections Hawaii is offering free math and verbal SAT prep courses during Spring break/inter-session:  March 23-April 2 from 8:30-12:30 pm at the Waiakea High School library.  If interested, log on to their website:  www.collegeconnections.org or see Ms. Yanagisawa in P4 for more info - P. YOKOSO JAPAN TRIP MEETING ON 3/3

The enrollment meeting for the Japan Trip in March of 2010 will be held in the WHS Library  on 3/3 (Girls' Day) @ 6 p.m.  Down payment for the trip is a non-refundable $150, which will secure your tour price.  Company has informed me that the tour price will increase on April 1, 2009.  Tour includes all air and ground transportation, admission fees, breakfast and dinner, 3 and 4-star accommodations, and 24 hour services of a bilingual tour guide.  Activities include:  Bullet Train, Hakone Onshi Park, Heian Shrine, Cooking School Lesson, Lake Ashi, Mt. Fuji, Nijo Castle, Kyoto, and Tokyo.  A high quality tour experience at a modest group rate.  See Mrs. Naungayan for the brochure and price.  - S. Naungayan
