GENERAL

SHARKS!!!

It's not too late to Support your fellow Warriors and the Senior class by selling/purchasing a ticket for this year's Variety Show An Elemental Adventure.  Pre-sale tickets are available in R-202 (Mrs. Irie's room) and in P-12  (Mrs. Sakai-Kawada's room) for $5.  Seniors who sell at least one ticket will receive a point towards a Commencement ticket.    - T. KURAYOSHI-KITA VISITORS:

Please extend a warm Warrior welcome to the five Japanese students and one teacher  from Kurayoshi-Kita High School.  They will be with us until Thursday. - D. Tanabe

PAAC GLOBAL STUDIES CLASS

Any students interested in Global Issues that would like .5 Social Studies credit towards graduation, please see Kamalani to sign up for a 2nd semester afterschool course.

Sign up for this afterschool class (no homework) as soon as possible in C-201. Also, come see us for more information about island competitions and Honolulu conferences as well as travel to Asia. - L. Kamalani

VALENTINE'S DAY ROSES:

Pre-orders for Valentine's Day roses has been extended till Thurs., Jan. 29.  Come to E-103 during lunch recess to order your Valentine's Day roses.  Cost is $3 per rose.  - D. Tanabe

ATTENTION ALL VARIETY SHOW PARTICIPANTS!

Anyone involved with the Variety Show is welcome to perform in the Finale dance, but you need to learn it first!  Practices are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday & Thursday at 2:30 p.m. after school.  All rehearsals will be in M-102.  Come to as many practices as you can so you'll be comfortable performing in the show on February 8. - M.  SCHOLARSHIPS

BEST BUY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM  -  Students currently in grades 9 - 12 and have a min. cum. G.P.A. of 2.5, demonstrate commitment to   & involvement in volunteer community service or work experience may apply for the scholarship. 1,000 scholarships of $1,500.00 each will be awarded. Deadline: February 15th, 2009. - N. Okinaka

SENIORS WITH COLLEGE MID-YEAR REPORTS

Seniors that are applying to schools that require a Mid-Year report (with updated 1st semester transcripts) are responsible to see Mrs. Tagawa asap.  You must give Mrs. Tagawa the Mid-Year form, updated transcripts and a stamped addressed envelope.  Any questions, please see Mrs. Tagawa. - H. CHAPMAN UNIVERSITY

Recent graduate Chelsea Takahashi who is attending Chapman University in Orange County, California will be doing a presentation on Wednesday, January 28th at 9:45am in GRAC. For those of you who missed talking w/ her, this is your chance to find out about Chapman. Come and "chat" w/ Chelsea to find out more about Chapman. Come to GRAC if interested to get a pass.

UNIVERSAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTE  PRESENTATION  -   A representative from UTI will be doing a presentation on February, 16th & 17th in Auto Shop.  UTI offers Automotive, Auto/NASCAR, Diesel, Collision Repair, motocycle, Marine Mechanics programs. They also have financial aid. Make good money, liking what you do. Come to GRAC for a pass if interested. - N. Okinaka

JOURNEY THROUGH THE UNIVERSE

This year's Journey Through the Universe Week will be February 9-13.  There will be activities for children and adults at Borders on Monday, Feb 9 from 5 PM - 7 PM (no ticket required).  Also, a limited number of free tickets are available for Family Science Day (Sunday, Feb 8  from 9 AM - 9 PM) and Family Science Night (Wednesday, Feb 11 from 4 PM - 8 PM).  Please see Mrs. Martin in E-201during non-class time if you are interested in tickets for these events. - L. Members who are participating in the host luncheon for the visiting Japanese students please remember to bring your food and drinks on Wed. to C-103 by recess.  Please bring enough food so everyone can enjoy.    Please be prompt so we can start and end on time. - L. Otsubo
