GENERAL

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP

To all members of the National Honor Society -  The National Association of   Secondary School Principals is offering the National Honor Society Scholarship. Amt. $1,000 -  $13,000 total.  Awards not based on financial need. Deadline: December 17th, 2007. Please turn in all applications to Mrs. Tagawa. For an application/ information, come to GRAC. SENIORS

Seniors!  Second Quarter/First Semester ends on the 20th.  Make sure that you are passing all of your classes and have made up your absences.  Don't forget about graduation requirements and that you are responsible for checking on your grades and your attendance.  Graduation is 6 months away and you don't want to run out of gas now!   - H. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

HAWAII ASSOCIATION FOR HEALTH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION, RECREATION & DANCE  -  (HAHPERD) Is in search of college bound and college students interested in the field of teaching Health, Physical Ed., Dance or Recreational Leadership. G.P.A - 3.0. Amt. - $750.00. Deadline :  March 1, 2008.

 

UH MANOA TUITION SCHOLARSHIP INTO COMPUTER SCIENCE -  Incoming students who are interested in pursuing a research career in the field of information and computer science. The scholarship program covers up to two semesters of tuition (tot. amt. will not exceed $5952.00)  Deadline March 22, 2008.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

 MARINE CORPS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION -  Need money for college or vo-tech school ? If you are the child of a Marine and your family income is $77,000 or less. Deadline: March 3, 2008. Also, all children whose parents is participating or has participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom: they have additiona scholarship funding for you also. NFIB YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR AWARD - The applicant should demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit and initiative, such as starting his/her own business, participation in organizations such as DECA, FBLA, Junior Achievment, NFTE, FFA, amoung others. Students can apply online - www.NFIB.com/YEA, also at www.goonline.cc.  Access key: NFIB. Amt. - $1,000.00 - $10,000.00 scholarship if selected as "Young Entrepreneur of the year. HAMAKUA MUSIC FESTIVAL, INC.  - Calling all young musicians 14 - 19 yrs. of age ! The Hamakua Music Festival is pleased to announce it's scholarship competition.  If you have musical talent, or interested in pursuing music, check out this scholarship! Send a demo cassette or CD demonstrating your talent. The finalist will be invited to perform a live auditon that will be held at Honokaa People's Theatre !  Deadline: February 29, 2008. VARIETY SHOW AUDITIONS

Those who were not able to audition for Variety Show this past Saturday can audition after school on Friday, December 14 in M-102.  There are no scheduled auditions.  It will be on a first come, first served basis.  Do not knock on the door as you may disrupt another audition.  Just wait outside, and we will come to get you.  All performers who are auditioning for talent acts (not class acts) need to turn in their required forms this week or they will not be selected. - M. SPORTS

RETURNING VARSITY BASEBALL PLAYERS

This Saturday (12/15/07), 8 am at the baseball field.  Bring your own refreshments.  We should be done by lunch time. - G. Mau

ALL JV BASEBALL CANDIDATES

Due to a change in the regular season date, the first day of tryouts for the Junior Varsity Baseball Team will be changed from Wednesday, December 26th, to Wednesday January 2nd.  Make sure you are properly dressed and at the high school baseball field before 9 am.  Also make sure that you have a current physical on file with the athletic trainers and have your tryout permission form signed by your parent/guardian.  If  you have any questions, come to E - 102. - G. Our annual Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, January 24th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Please send me an e-mail stating a possible appointment time that would work best for you!  We are trying desperately to break our state record of 159 pints that we achieved last year!  We so appreciate your generosity! - Y.
