GENERAL

SATURDAY SCHOOL

If you still have to make up absences, Remember: There will be NO Weekday attendance makeup after November 21. There will be only three (3) Saturday School days this semester: Wednesday, December 5 from 2-6pm; Saturday, Dec 8, from 8am-noon; and Saturday, Dec 15  from 8am-noon (all three days) in the cafeteria.  There will be NO Weekday Attendance make up or Saturday school the last week of November (Nov 26-29) and the last week before the end of the semester (Dec 17-20). See an administrator, Come to C 101 or see Mrs. Kiyonaga in P-4 if you have any questions. - P. De Morales

ASVAB TESTING

Just a reminder !  The ASVAB Testing will be held in the Library Thursday, November 8, 2007 starting at 8:15 am. during pd.'s

STUDY ABROAD IN CHINA OR JAPAN

 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students interested in studying in China or Japan in the summer of 2008:  Selection is based on academic record, recommendations, and a personal interview.  Financial aid is available to qualified applicants.  Please see Ms. Yanagisawa in P4 for more information and application. - P. Are you in need of a good laugh?  Is Sir Spam-a-lot your idea of  a knight in shining armor?  If so,  join us on FRIDAY night, November 9th in the library from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. for a FREE private screening (on the big screen)  of  "MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL."  Pick up the waiver form from any ARTS & COMMUNICATIONS ACADEMY teacher, and bring the signed form on Friday night.  - S. "DREAMSCAPE" BIDS ON SALE IN E103 FROM 11/06 TO 11/16

Winter Ball Bids are now on sale in E103 during LUNCH RECESS.   WHS dues-payers are $7.00.  Outside guests (20 years and younger) are $10.00.  Please bring a picture ID for yourself and your guest (copies are acceptable for outside guests).   "Dreamscape," the theme for this year's Winter Ball, will be held on Saturday, December 15th, from 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. in the Waiakea High Gymnasium.  Only 500 bids are available for the most elegant dance of the Christmas Season!  Permission forms are available in E103 and R205 for a refundable 25 cents. - S. It is now two weeks before Meet #2 at Hilo High School.  You should find your categories from your team captain and start coming to R206 to practice. - K. Anderson

SENIORS NEEDED FOR DECA TUG OF WAR

SPORTS

BASKETBALL TRYOUTS

Basketball tryouts start on Mon 11/12 (Veterans Day).  Boys tryouts from 3:00pm - 5: 30pm. Girls tryouts from 5:30pm - 7:30 pm.  All tryouts will be held at WHS gym.   Completed physical and parent consent form required for participation. Daily attendance will count in the selection process. - T. Correa

The SGA Congress meeting will be held on Thursday, Nov. 8, 9:55 am in the cafeteria.  All  SGA chairpersons, social studies reps, class and service club presidents, please attend.   - D. Tanabe

COMMENCEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING

There will be a commencement committee meeting on Wednesday, November 7 at lunch recess for only senior committee members (Junior and Sophomore committee members don't have to attend).  We will be planning for the ordering assembly.  Any questions, see Katie.  Thank you! - H. Tagawa

SENIOR WINTER PROGRAM
