GENERAL

 

DECA STORE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS

The DECA Store will be CLOSING on Wednesdays.  The store will be OPEN AFTER SCHOOL on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays ONLY.  Stop by and purchase delicious, ice cold strawberry, chocolate or 2% white milk, assorted juices and snacks!  Thank you for supporting the Business Academy! - S. WINTER BALL BIDS ON SALE SOON!

Plan for this one:  Bids for the 2007 Winter Ball, "Dreamscape," will go on sale next week Monday, November 5th, in E103 during recess.  This year's Winter Ball will be held on Saturday, December 15, from 5:30 -10:00 p.m. in Warrior Gymnasium.    Bids are $7.00 for WHS dues-payers and $10.00 for guests (under 21 years old only!).  The attire is Sunday Best:   short or tea-length dresses/skirts for girls and collared shirts and nice pants for guys (sorry!  no jeans!).  Only 500 bids will be sold to this year's Winter Ball, which we promise will be our most beautiful winter ball ever!  Pick up your Winter Ball permission forms this week in E103 or from Mrs. Naungayan in R205 for 25 cents (which will be refunded to you when you pay for your bid).  - S. CLASS OF 2010 AFTER-SCHOOL CONCESSION

The Jaguars will be selling snacks and drinks everyday after-school for the month of November!  Daily specials include double-cheeseburgers, pizza, tacos, hot dogs, and saimin!!  Come with hungry appetites!!! - P. Yanagisawa

STUDY ABROAD IN CHINA OR JAPAN

 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students interested in studying in China or Japan in the summer of 2008:  Selection is based on academic record, recommendations, and a personal interview.  Financial aid is available to qualified applicants.  Please see Ms. Yanagisawa in P4 for more information and application. - P. LIKO A'E: NATIVE HAWAIIAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM PRESENTATION

Tuesday, November 13, Pd 5, from 11am-noon in the library.  Kamaka Gunderson will be coming to explain the Liko A'e scholarship,  recruit students to develop a cohort of high school students for a college bridge program, talk about financial aid options, etc.  Presentation is open to juniors and seniors.  Non-Hawaiian students are welcome to come and hear her college prep info.  See Mrs. Okinaka in GRAC for a pass to the presentation. - P.De  Morales

WHS VARSITY AND JV BASEBALL SIGN UPS

Sign ups for this years Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball teams will commence on Thursday, November 1, 2007 during lunch recess in E - 102.  If you are not able to sign up on this day, then please see Mr. Mau before Thursday. - G. Mau

We will have a meeting on Thursday during lunch recess at 12:10 do discuss our t-shirts, collect your reflection about the bonding activity, and to sign up volunteers for helping with an activity in Aug. 2008.   - L. Otsubo
