GENERAL

FEDERAL STUDENT AID PRESENTATION

Cindy Cameron from the USDOE Federal Student Aid Awareness and OUtreach Office in DC will be doing a 40 minute talk story session at WHS for students, counselors and parents on Wednesday, October 31, 2007, from 1-1:40pm in the library.  Passes are available in GRAC. 

Ms Cameron will discuss

*the basics of federal student aid and where to find more information

*FAFSA for 2008: she will at least have draft copies of the web worksheet

*EFC: the expected family contribution (which does not only come from family income information)

**Come with questions about your own situation (she can answer during the presentation if it pertains to everyone, if not, she'll answer questions afterwards)

ATTENDANCE MAKEUP/SATURDAY SCHOOL

Weekday Attendance makeup will run from October 8 - November 21, daily EXCEPT FRIDAY in C 102.  There will be NO Weekday attendance makeup after November 21, for the last three weeks of the semester .  There are only 25 seats available daily, so do not wait until the last minute. There will be only three (3) Saturday School days this semester: Wednesday, December 5 from 2-6pm, Saturday, Dec 8, from 8am-noon, and Saturday, Dec 15  from 8am-noon in the cafeteria.  There will be NO Weekday Attendance make up or Saturday school the last week before the end of the semester (Dec 17-20). See an administrator, Come to C 101 or see Mrs. Kiyonaga in P-4 if you have any questions. - P. De Morales

VARIETY SHOW LEADERS NEEDED!

Calling all students! We are looking for organized individuals who are willing to chair a committee in this year's Variety Show. See Jade Yamada or Ms. Ellsworth in DEBATE TEAMS FORMING

All those interested in debating interesting issues, including those who signed up and those who haven't, there will be an organizational meeting on Tuesday Oct. 30 during lunch to discuss possible topics and meeting times.  Again, interested debaters meet in Miss Ellsworth's room, that's Room C-204, Tuesday at lunch. - M. DECA STORE CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS

The DECA Store will be CLOSING on Wednesdays.  The store will be OPEN AFTER SCHOOL on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays ONLY.  Stop by and purchase delicious, ice cold strawberry, chocolate or 2% white milk, assorted juices and snacks!  Thank you for supporting the Business Academy! - S. WINTER BALL BIDS ON SALE SOON!

Plan for this one:  Bids for the 2007 Winter Ball, "Dreamscape," will go on sale next week Monday, November 5th, in E103 during recess.  This year's Winter Ball will be held on Saturday, December 15, from 5:30 -10:00 p.m. in Warrior Gymnasium.    Bids are $7.00 for WHS dues-payers and $10.00 for guests (under 21 years old only!).  The attire is Sunday Best:   short or tea-length dresses/skirts for girls and collared shirts and nice pants for guys (sorry!  no jeans!).  Only 500 bids will be sold to this year's Winter Ball, which we promise will be our most beautiful winter ball ever!  Pick up your Winter Ball permission forms this week in E103 or from Mrs. Naungayan in R205 for 25 cents (which will be refunded to you when you pay for your bid).  - S.
