LAST FEW POSITIONS OPEN FOR THE GREECE AND ITALY TRIP!

Mahalo for the wonderful response from WHS students and their families!  This once-in-a-lifetime trip is nearly sold out!  From March 12 - 22, 2008, thirty excited students from Waiakea High will be touring Athens, Patras, Olympia, and Delphi in Greece.  Then, they will sail across the sea to Italy where they will visit  Sorrento, Tuscany, Pompeii, Capri, and Rome.  In each of these ancient cities, a local scholar will accompany the group to teach the students about the art, music, history, culture, and the people of Europe.  History will come alive for these students as they walk in the shadows of the Parthenon and the Colosseum!  See Mrs. Naungayan in R205 for information. - S. Naungayan

DEBATE TEAM

The formation of a debate team at Waiakea is long overdue. Debate is a fun and entertaining activity that can be related to every subject. If we could get enough students involved, we could create a team and maybe compete in competitions. Learning how to debate is an extremely beneficial skill. It would also look great on your college applications! If you're interested, please contact Emma Fenn or Ms.Ellsworth by Friday Oct.19. - M. Ellsworth
