ATTENTION SENIORS!

If you missed the Aug. 31st deadline for the yearbook parent patron section, Mrs. Castillo is extending the due date.  If you and your parents would like to be a part of the parent patron page(s), please turn in your money to the yearbook staff or Mrs. Castillo in room D-203 by the end of this month.  The senior class thanks you for your support in bringing down our total cost for the senior section.  Every bit counts!  Let's go Vipers! - K. SENIORS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY IN ST. LOUIS

AFTERSCHOOL CONCESSION

Daily specials continue until the end of the quarter.  Don't forget to pre-order your bento for this Friday.   Cost is $5.00 for a Blane's Korean Chicken Bento.  Go to D-203 during either recess, or E-103 afterschool to purchase your ticket and place your order.  Pick up is on Friday, Sept 21 in E-103 after school.  Thank you for supporting the Senior class. - K. HUIANA INTERNSHIPS

Last chance to pick up an application packet for the Huiana Internships!  Come and learn more about earning 1/2 credit and getting hands-on work experience.  Pick up an application packet from Mrs. Yamanaka in U102.  Deadline to turn in application forms is Thursday, Sept. 27th. - R. Yamanaka

TO ALL INTERESTED INDUSTRIAL AND ENGINEERING ACADEMY STUDENTS

The Waiakea High School Technology Learning Center is still taking student applications for those interested in after school courses in Electronics, Computers, or Electric Vehicles.  Mr. Marshall is offering two courses in Electronic Communications Systems and Network Technologies.  Mr. Kiyan is offering the Electrikar II course in building an electric car.  All courses involve problem-solving and hands-on activities.  All classes are open to all highly motivated students in grades 9 -12 with interests in electronics, computers, engineering, and/or automotive technology.  Applications can be picked up from Mr. Kiyan in Auto Shop or Mr. Marshall in Electronics.  Applications are due by October 8, 2007. - D. PSAT TESTING FEES

The PSAT/NMSQT will be held on Saturday, October 20, at 7:30 a.m.at the WHS CAFE.. Students in Gr. 9, 10 & 11 who are interested in taking the test can register in GRAC ( Port. 12). COST IS $13. Both cash & checks will be accepted. Make checks  payable to WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL. Beginning - TUESDAY,  SEPTEMBER 18TH. LAST DAY TO REGISTER WILL ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28TH !!  This year, the test is being offered FREE  of charge to SOPHOMORES & JUNIORS !! FREE !  FREE !! Bring your  H.S. ID to GRAC when you register. SENIORS INTERESTED IN APPLYING SCRIPPS COLLEGE

Female seniors planning on applying to Scripps College in Claremont, California, please see Mrs. Tagawa in P5 for a scholarship opportunity by 9/27.  Scripps is a private women's college of only 875 students associated with The Claremont Colleges, consisting of Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer and Harvey Mudd.  Thank you! - H. ART CLUB

Attention:  Art Club Banner Committee members.  We need to continue working on the banners for homecoming.  Meet in H-101, everyday during 1st recess, lunch or after school. - S. Shiigi

MATH LEAGUE

MANDATORY practice for ALL Math League members (even if you are not on a team) Friday, Sep 21. After School.  Our first meet is Wed. Sep 26, we need to practice!  There is a rumor that there might be food.  Remember, it's about the food.  If unable to attend and partake of this rumor of food, please see Mr. Anderson before the end of the day on Friday. JAPANESE-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY

There will be a short meeting regarding our bonding project potluck on Sept. 28.  Please attend or you will not be included in the count, excursion forms will be distributed and directions will be given.  The meeting starts promptly at 12:10.    Remember this is your club, I am just the advisor.  Thank you for your cooperation. - L. FEDERAL SURVEY CARDS:

THANK YOU TEACHERS  for your persistence and patience in trying to get them back to me.  There were about 20 outstanding ones that I had to contact the home for the information.
