GENERAL

COUNTY OF HI SOLID WASTE DIV. LOGO CONTEST:

Big Island students are invited to help create the County of HI Solid Waste/Recycling Logo.  If you are interested in entering the contest, come to E-103 for the contest rules & regulations.  Deadline for submission is Sept. 27, 2008.  Call 961-8549 if you have any questions. - D. Tanabe

WHS SCIENCE BOWL

If you are interested in Science Bowl Team but could not make Wednesday's meeting, please see Mrs. Sato in Q-201 by Monday afternoon. - K. Sato

COLLEGE PRESENTATION

ALBERTSON COLLEGE OF IDAHO  -  Is a private Liberal Arts college located in Caldwell city Idaho which is 30 min. northwest of Boise. Pre-professional courses offered - Pre- Dental, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine. A representative will be doing a presentation on Monday, Sept. 17th, 2007 in GRAC at 10:00am.

PACIFIC U -   A representative will be doing a presentation Friday, in GRAC on October 12, 2007 at 8:30am.  Pacific U is a small private 4 yr. university in Forest Grove, OR.

WILLAMETTE UNIVERSITY  - will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 9:30am.

GONZAGA UNIVERSITY  -  will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 8:30am.

UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA  -  A USC representative will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Friday, October 19th, 2007 at 9:30am.

LINFIELD COLLEGE  - representative will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 9:15 am.

HAWAII PACIFIC UNIVERSITY  - will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 8:30am.

If interested in any of these presentations, come to GRAC (port. 12) for a pass. - N. Okinaka

MATH LEAGUE

9th and 10th grade Math League Members, please come to R206 from now until next week Wednesday any time you have about 30 minutes to take practice/placement tests for possible team placements for the first Math League Meet taking place on Sept. 26.   All Chairpersons and committee members  and anyone else wishing to help with  Meet #1 please come to a meeting Monday Sept 17, R206 at lunch. - K. ATTENTION SENIORS!

If you missed the Aug. 31st deadline for the yearbook parent patron section, Mrs. Castillo is extending the due date.  If you and your parents would like to be a part of the parent patron page(s), please turn in your money to the yearbook staff or Mrs. Castillo in room D-203 by the end of this month.  The senior class thanks you for your support in bringing down our total cost for the senior section.  Every bit counts!  Let's go Vipers! - K. GIRLS AND BOYS BASKETBALL SIGNUPS

All boys and girls interested in playing basketball for WHS are to meet/sign up with coaches on  Monday Sept 17  during lunch recess in front of the WHS Gym.  - T. Correa

SWIM AND WATERPOLO SIGN-UPS

All students interested in joining the WHS Swim team meet/sign-up with the coach on Wed. 9/19 in front of the gym.

All girls interested in playing water polo for WHS meet/sign-up with the coach on Wed. 9/19 in front of the gym - T. Correa

 

MEETINGS

STAT WORKERS NEEDED FOR WHS FOOTBALL TEAM

The WHS Football Team is looking for a few good workers to assist with Stats data collection and equipment management.  You must be available to attend practices and games both home and away.  Games are normally on Friday or Saturday nights from about 5:00 pm.  Reminder: We are NOT looking for those only interested in being affiliated with the team...you MUST be here to WORK!  Informational meeting on Monday, Sept. 17 during morning Recess in Q102.  If you are interested but unable to attend the meeting, please see Mrs. Mendes (Q102) or Jayrah Salvador. - K. Mendes

SPANISH CLUB

Thank you all for doing such a good job with the fundraiser! We'll be having a meeting next week, September 19, to vote on t-shirt designs and continue with el dia de los muertos, so make sure you spread the word! a special thank you to Senor Tomas! gracias! - S. Kiriu

 

ART CLUB

Attention all Art Club Banner Committee members:   Meet in H101, everyday for the next three weeks during 1st recess, lunch or after school.  We need to work on banners for future activities.    - S. Shiigi
