GENERAL

SENIOR ADS

Sign up and pay for Senior Ad space in room D-201 on August 9, 2007. Space is limited and pages will be sold on a first come first served basis.  As a reminder, when paying, you must pay with one check made out to WHS, or you must have the exact amount of cash required to pay for the ad.  - K. DRIVER ED. PARENT LETTER

All students who have signed up for August session driver ed. are to pick up parent night letter from Mr. Yamauchi at the Boys Lockeroom.

Come during recesses,before or after school. Mandatory meeting will be held on August 16th, 6:30pm at the school library.

Student and a parent must attend this meeting to take driver ed. - W. Yamauchi

AFTERSCHOOL CONCESSION

Hey Warriors!!! Stop by E103 everyday this month to purchase snacks & beverages. - T. Kawada

SHARKS!!!

Support your Junior class afterschool concession in E103 throughout the month of April.  We're trying to raise money so we can have awesome Junior class activities this year.  Sharks ROCK!!! - T. Kawada

JUNIORS & SENIORS  

A representative from UHManoa will be doing a presentation in the Cafeteria on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 8:30a.m.

UHHilo will be doing their presentation on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 in the Cafeteria starting at 8:30am.

A representative from Colby College will be doing a college presentation on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 9:15a.m. in GRAC.Colby College is located in Waterville, Maine.  If interested in any of these College presentation, come to GRAC (Port. 12) to sign up for a pass. - N. Okinaka

CLUB DAY:

On Friday, Aug. 10, students will be able to check out the many clubs that are available at WHS.  Come to the quad during lunch recess, join a club and F.L.Y - Find the Leader in YOU!   - D. Tanabe

BOOK SEARCH

The following books are missing from U-201.  Please help me look for them.  They are  all white with the title NTC's Basic Japanese, the barcode numbers are 4945,4951, and 5174.  If any one happens to find them anywhere on campus or at your homes, please return them to the WHS library so I can get them back.  Thank you  - L. STUDENTS' WORK

Last year's students of Mrs. Otsubo who did not get back their portfolios, chomen, notebooks, and projects pick them up at U-201 by Aug. 10 or the itms will be thrown out.  Thank you. - L. Otsubo

STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Students who ride the school bus your permanent bus pass is ready to be picked up in the main office. In order to pick up your permanent bus pass you must first turn in your temporary bus pass. To confirm you received your permanent bus pass you will be required to sign out for it. Come to the main office before school starts and during 1st and 2nd recess. - M. Abraham

2008 YEARBOOKS

If you are interested in ordering a 2008 yearbook, please come by D-201 during morning or lunch recess.  Books cost $50.00 and you can pay with cash or a check written out to WHS. - K. Castillo

ABOUT FACE PROGRAM

Do you want to be paid $240 for learning real life and work skills? The About Face Program will start the week of  September 4 through October 30.   The program consists of 16 after-school sessions, twice a week from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m.  Students will be transported to the program but must have their own transportation home.   Limited slots available.    See your counselor for application forms! - M. The class of 2010 is taking nominations to change your class mascot and colors.  This is your last chance to change, so choose wisely!  Please see Ms. Yanagisawa in P4 to submit your nomination by Fri. August 10. - P. Yanagisawa

SENIORS - RUNNING START/EARLY ADMIT

Seniors!  If you have registered for a Running Start or Early Admit class, please give me a copy of your schedule (My Weekly Schedule).  Once I have this documentation, I will request off-campus pass for you.  If I do not receive a copy of your schedule, no off-campus pass will be generated.  Please see me if you have any questions.  Thank you! - H. COUNTY OF HI SOLID WASTE DIV. LOGO CONTEST:

Big Island students are invited to help create the County of HI Solid Waste/Recycling Logo.  If you are interested in entering the contest, come to E-103 for the contest rules & regulations.  Deadline for submission is Sept. 27, 2008.  Call 961-8549 if you have any questions. - D. Tanabe

Hey Waiakea Writers!  Are you interested in expressing your self through creative writing and feel that your English class just isn't enough?  Would you like to join like minded students in furthering your creative talents in a non-graded environment?  Come to the Club Fair this Friday and find Mr. Williamson's table if you are interested. - K.
