GENERAL

TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION MONTH

Sex has consequences.  Did you know. . .Contraceptive use among sexually active teens has increased but remains inconsistent.  A sexually active teen who does not use contraception has a 90 percent chance of pregnancy within one year.  See Mrs. Yamanaka, U102 if you have questions. - R. Yamanaka

JAGUARS OF 2010

A class cookbook is being created for our fall fundraiser!  Please submit 2 of your FAVORITE recipes:  one dessert and/or entree/appetizer.  Recipe handouts will be distributed through 10th grade english teachers, Misha Takane, or Ms. Yanagisawa in P4.  - P. Yanagisawa

FREE SAT PREP CLASSES

Once again College Connections will be offering a FREE SAT prep class this summer at Waiakea High School.   June 30-July 11, 8:30 am-12:30pm at the Waiakea High library.  Register on-line at www.collegeconnections.org. - P. Yanagisawa

STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Pre-registration for school bussing services for the 2008-2009 School Year has started. Handbooks, applications and information on registering are available in the office if you are planning on using the school bus services as a means of transportation to and/or from school next year.  - M. SENIOR LUNCH REFUNDS

Seniors cafeteria refunds will be given out on FRIDAY, 5/30 during the last song practice. - P. Kealoha

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

UNITED FILIPINO COUNCIL OF HI. SCHOLARSHIP  -  Open to all 2008 graduating high school seniors of Filipino ancestry.

MATH LEAGUE

All math league members please attend an important meeting Thrusday Lunch recess in R206.  We will be electing next years officers and planning the pizza party.  If you don't come, you don't get told were the party is. - K. Anderson

WHS BOYS BOWLING TRYOUT MEETING

Try-out meeting will be held for all boys interested in participating on the WHS Boys bowling team 08/09 at 3:15pm on Thurs 5/29/08 at Hiol Lanes  - T. Correa

WHS GIRLS BOWLING TRYOUT MEETING

A meeting for all girls interested  intrying out for Girls bowling at WHS  will be held  at 3:00pm on 5/30 in Hilo  Lanes - T. Correa

 

MEETINGS

JAPANESE-AMERICAN FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY

There will be a last meeting on May 29, Thursday during lunch recess.  We will niminate and elect new officers and will discuss the Haari boat Race Activity which we have been asked to help with.  please attend and be prompt.  The meeting will start at 12:10.    - L. Otsubo

NETC TRIP VOUCHER AVAILABLE:   

If you are going on an NETC trip this coming school year, I have one TRAVEL VOUCHER available for your trip.  The voucher is for $900, and you can apply this toward your trip payment.  This voucher works like cash.  See me in R205 or Larissa Ishikawa for details. - S. Naungayan

JUNIORS HELPING WITH COMMENCEMENT DECORATIONS

Please attend the last mandatory meeting on Friday, May 30 in Room Q202 for last minute instructions for decorations.  Make sure you turn in the permission form for the activity as well as a parent note allowing you to be out after curfew to Mrs. Ray as soon as possible. - C. Ray
