GENERAL

TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION MONTH

Sex has consequences.  Did you know. . .The sons of teen mothers are 13 percent more likely to end up in prison while teen daughters are 22 percent more likely to become teen mothers themselves.  See Mrs. Yamanaka, U102 if you have questions. - R. Yamanaka

LAST SATURDAY SCHOOL

If you are attending Saturday School on May 24, be sure to bring a picture ID.  NO I.D.- NO ENTRY NO MATTER WHO or WHAT. If you have lost your school ID or driver's license, you may BUY another I.D. at office.  Be there by 8am for the first session.  No Late entries will be allowed.  Remember, only two absences for a single class can be made up on each on this last Saturday. - P. JAGUARS OF 2010

A class cookbook is being created for our fall fundraiser!  Please submit 2 of your FAVORITE recipes:  one dessert and/or entree/appetizer.  Recipe handouts will be distributed through 10th grade english teachers, Misha Takane, or Ms. Yanagisawa in P4.  - P. Yanagisawa

JUNIOR COMMENCEMENT DECORATIONS COMMITTEE MEMBERS

There will be an important planning meeting Friday, May 23 in Q202 during lunch recess. Please attend.  Commencement is just around the corner and we need your help. - C. Ray

Juniors come by R202 during lunch on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for candy lei making. - K. Irie

SENIOR LOCKER REFUND:

Today is the last day for locker refunds for seniors.  Come to E-103 during morning recess with your lock.   - D. Tanabe

SENIORS WITHOUT ENGLISH CLASSES

Any senior who is not taking English at WHS, don't forget to pick up a new commencement newsletter outside Mrs. Tagawa's office.  This newsletter contains important information and dates for commencement! - H. Tagawa

FRESHMAN CONNECTION LEADERS:

Interested incoming juniors or seniors who are interested in serving as Freshman Connection leaders may come to E-103 to pick up an application.  All applicants should check on the requirements before applying.  Deadline:  Friday, May 30. - D. Tanabe

INTERACT CLUB

Reminder: Sunday, May 25th, 2008 EMT Fun/RunWalk at Liliuokalani Gardens. Meet at 6:30am Mandatory and be prompt.  May 27th Tuesday, Mandatory meeting 12:15, lunch recess in R103. Be prompt. And last, Hekka Night at Wailoa State Park on May 28th. Please, I need a head count for participants ASAP.  - N. Sumida

MEMORIAL DAY LEI:

Congratulations to all classes for their contribution to the statewide Memorial Day lei competition.  The mighty seniors turned in a whopping total of 3,000 lei, followed by the juniors with 96l, the freshmen with 694, and the sophomores with 85 for a grand total of 4,740 lei!  Hooray!  Way to go, Warriors!  - D. Tanabe

ALL PUBLIC AND HUMAN SERVICES ACADEMY STUDENTS:

Report directly to the library on Wednesday, May 28th for mentoring.  Please also wear your PHS t-shirts on Wednesday.  Thanks! - Y. Bright-Poai

WHS BOYS BOWLING TRYOUT MEETING

Try-out meeting will be held for all boys interested in participating on the WHS Boys bowling team 08/09 at 3:15pm on Thurs 5/29/08 at Hiol Lanes  - T. Correa

WHS GIRLS BOWLING TRYOUT MEETING

A meeting for all girls interested  intrying out for Girls bowling at WHS  will be held  at 3:00pm on 5/30 in Hilo  Lanes - T. Correa

 

MEETINGS

ALL JUNIORS HELPING WITH COMMENCEMENT DECORATIONS

There will be an important informational meeting today during lunch recess in Room Q202.  Please attend.  Bring others who would be willing to help set up for commencement.  We need a lot of manpower to get the job done quickly. - C. Ray

CHEERLEADING TRYOUT MEETING

Cheerleading tryout meeting will be held today at 5:30 pm in the gym.  - L. Switzer
