GENERAL

ACTIVITY EVALUATION REPORT & SERVICE AWARD POINT FORMS:

All activity reports and service award point forms should be turned into your respective advisors as soon as possible.  The last day to submit Service Award Point forms for the school year is May 12 for seniors and May 16 for underclassmen.   - D. Tanabe

TEEN PREGNANCY PREVENTION QUIZ

Starting on May 7th and for the rest of the month, teens nationwide will be asked to visit The National Campaign's teen website, www.StayTeen.org, and take a short, scenario-based "quiz" that asks young people what they would do in a number of risky sexual situations.  The purpose of the National Day is to focus the attention of teens on the importance of avoiding too-early pregnancy and parenthood.  Please encourage all teens to go online and take the quiz. - R. SENIOR PROM MEMORY BOOKS

Reminder:  Everyone who purchased a photo package of senior prom pictures also receives a FREE memory book.  Please come and pick up your memory book from U102.   - R. Yamanaka

PROJECT GRAD

This Friday, 5/09, is the early registration deadline for Project Grad 2008.  All who register by this day will receive an exclusive Project Grad 2008 t-shirt and be entered in the early incentive drawing for a Nintendo Wii (one for a guy and one for a girl).  Absolute deadline to register is Thursday, May 29; late registrants will not receive the shirt or be entered for the Wii but may still be entered for other prize drawings.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Sato in Q-201. - K. SATURDAY SCHOOL

The final Saturday School sessions for the year begin this Saturday, May 10, continue on May 17 and conclude on May 24. It will be held in WHS cafeteria from 8:00am - 12:20pm. This will be your last chance to make up any absences you may have. Please bring your photo ID in order to be allowed admission to the sessions. All school rules apply. No I-pods or cell phones will be allowed during the Saturday School sessions. If you have any questions, please see Attendance Coordinator, Mrs. Kiyonaga in P-4. - L. Kiyonaga

ATTENDANCE MAKEUP OPPORTUNITIES ALMOST PAU!!

Wednesday, May 7 and Thursday, May 8 are the Last Weekday attendance makeup sessions in C 102!!!  Saturday School runs for 3 Saturdays, May 10, May 17, and May 24.

If you have more than 6 absences in one class, Saturday school will not be enough to erase your absences so you can pass that class.  Please check with your teachers on the number of absences you have in each class if you are in danger of not passing due to absences.  Check with your counselor if you have further concerns.  Study Hall will continue from Mondays thru Thursdays until the end of the year in C102. - P.De  Morales

SATURDAY SCHOOL

If you are attending Saturday School on May 10, 17, or 24, be sure to bring a picture ID.  NO I.D.- NO ENTRY NO MATTER WHO or WHAT. If you have lost your school ID or driver's license, you may BUY another I.D. at office.  Be there by 8am for the first session.  No Late entries will be allowed.  Remember, only two absences for a single class can be made up on each of the three Saturdays.   - P. SENIOR LU'AU:

Senior lu'au takes place this Friday, May 9th at the Naniloa Resort Polynesian Room.  Doors open at 5:30 pm. and will close at 6:00 pm.  Please bring your bid, and a picture ID to be admitted.  The attire is casual or aloha.  No rubber slippers! Seating is by first come, first served basis!  The event ends at 10:00 pm. - Y. Bright-Poai

CHESS CLUB MEETING IN R205

There will be a mandatory Chess Club Meeting in R205 on Friday, during Lunch Recess.  Be prepared to plan for upcoming Big Island Chess Tournament, which will be held on May 24th.  See Chris Funada or Mrs. Naungayan if you are unable to make the meeting. - S. Naungayan

JUNIOR GRADUATION LEI MAKING

Juniors come to R202 on  Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during lunch to create Graduation leis for our fundraiser.   - K. Irie

STAMP OUT HUNGER:

Don't forget the Annual Letter Carriers Food Drive.  Place non-perishable food items in a bag and leave it by your mailbox on Saturday, May 10.   They'll deliver your donation to our local food bank. - D. Tanabe

 

SPORTS

SPRING TRAINING

Football Spring practice for 2008-2009 season will start Monday May 12th thru May 23rd.  Sign in will begin 2:10pm at boys locker room, followed by practice that will commence at 2:25 sharp and end at 6:30pm!  Current physical must be up to date to be eligible to practice.  Cleats, gym shoes and proper athletic attire will be needed to participate. All that are planning to be part of the 2008-2009 "Warrior Football Family" must attend! A four team jamboree scrimmage will conclude our spring practices. Imua Warrior! - W. Kanakaole

WHS 2008-2009 FOOTBALL SEASON

WHS football program seeking Student managers and Statisticians for 2008-2009 season. Must be committed, punctual and dependable students willing to be part of the "Warrior football family". Please contact Coach Tolentino, Head football coach at Boys Locker room. 3pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. - W. Kanakaole
