JUNIOR MAY DAY PARTICIPANTS

May Day practices for Junior participants are being held daily in Q102.  If you are unable to attend, see Jayrah Salvador, Ryan Sagawa, Frantasia Kekaualua or Mrs. Mendes. - K. Mendes

UNITED STATES NAVY & MARINE CORPS PRESENTATIONS  

Sgt. Monroe of the U.S. Marines, will be doing a presentation  on Thursday, 24 April during 2nd Period  9:15 - 9:45, and  Petty Officer Senoren of the U.S. Navy will follow with his presentation from 9:45 - 10:15 in P-30 (JROTC). You must have a pass from your teacher in order to be admitted. If the military is an option for you after high school, this is an opportunity to gather information from each of these branches.  Thank You! - M. Respicio

SENIOR WEEK

Hey VIPERS!  Want to help make SENIOR WEEK the best one ever held?  Well come to our meeting this Friday during lunch recess in F-103 (Mr. Higa's room).  We will be going over what needs to be done for all activities and we need your help.  We will also be meeting later on that day to work on banners.  The themes for the week are:  Lucky You Live Hawaii Monday, Let's Get Wacky Tuesday, VIPER Royalty Wednesday, Hanabada Craze Thursday, and Future Frenzy Friday.  For more information see Karlissa Pidong. - K. MANDATORY HCC ORIENTATION PRESENTATION

ALL SENIORS who have been accepted into Hawaii Community College, you are required to attend an important orientation  presentation in the Library on Tuesday, May 6th  at 9:15 am. Topics such as Registration procedures and orientation to HCC will be covered. Pick up passes at either GRAC (P-12) or at Q203 before May 6. - G. Victorine

WANT FREE CREDITS AT HCC?

Seniors, if you've taken any business courses throughout your 4 years at Waiakea High, please see any business teacher for more information on the Hawaii Community College/Waiakea High Business Academy Articulation Program.  You may receive up to 19 FREE credits at Hawaii CC. - S. Kojima

WAIAKEA SFF SCU CLOSED

The credit union will be closed on Monday, May 5th due to May Day activities during lunch.  Please feel free to stop by the KTA Puainako or Hinano Street branches for any transactions.  Sorry for the inconvenience. - S. Kojima

SUMMER SCHOOL

We will continue to accept applications for summer school.  Those of you who have already submitted applications will be receiving receipts this week.  If you need summer school, you need to turn in your applications and money to C102 or Mr. Williamson's box as soon as possible.  Classes are filling up; don't wait until the last minute or you might find yourself without a class for the summer. - K. SOUND CREW MEETING

There will be a quick meeting of the Sound Crew Thursday, May 1 during lunch to discuss upcoming events.  Thanks. - A. Roberts

SENIOR RETREAT

Congradualtions SENIORS we have enough people signed up for senior retreat!!!  Sign Ups for activities and bus seating will being today and end on Friday in front of E-103 during lunch recess.  It's first come first serve, so don't be the last!  If you do not sign up for bus seating, the committee will randomly place you! - J. MAY DAY 2008:

Wear aloha attire on Monday, May 5th when Waiakea High School celebrates May Day 2008.  Anyone wearing aloha attire can enter a drawing for a  Prince Kuhio Plaza gift certificate.  Sign up in E-103 before morning recess.   - D. Tanabe

ATTENTION ALL WAIAKEA HIGH STUDENTS.

Only students with a valid Waiakea Complex pass are allowed on Waiakea Elementary and/or Waiakea Intermediate campus' before and after school.  If you do not have a Complex Pass, you may be stopped and issued a tresspass warning.  Further violations may result in police arrest.   Please understand that the schools must inforce this policy for safety and security measures for all students.  Thank you. - J. UH HILO PRESENTATION

Attention Seniors !  If you have been accepted into UH Hilo in the fall, you need to attend the orientation presentation on Wednesday, May 7, at 8:30 a.m. in the Cafeteria. Come to GRAC to sign up for a pass. - N. Okinaka

NATIONAL MONTH TO PREVENT TEEN PREGNANCY

May is designated to be a national month to prevent teen pregnancy.  The purpose of the month is to focus the attention of teens to the importance of avoiding too early pregnancy and parenthood.  Sex has consequences. . .stay tuned to the morning bulletin every day this month.  See Mrs. Yamanaka in U102 for more information.  - R. SPORTS

SPRING TRAINING

Football Spring practice for 2008-2009 season will start Monday May 12th thru May 23rd.  Sign in will begin 2:10pm at boys locker room, followed by practice that will commence at 2:25 sharp and end at 6:30pm!  Current physical must be up to date to be eligible to practice.  Cleats, gym shoes and proper athletic attire will be needed to participate. All that are planning to be part of the 2008-2009 "Warrior Football Family" must attend! A four team jamboree scrimmage will conclude our spring practices. Imua Warrior! - W. Kanakaole

SGA CONGRESS:

The final SGA Congress meeting of the school year will be held today, 11:30 am in the cafeteria.  All social studies reps, SGA chairpersons, and class & service club presidents, please attend.   - D. Tanabe
