GENERAL

ACTIVITY EVALUATION REPORT & SERVICE AWARD POINT FORMS: All activity reports and service award point forms should be turned into your respective advisors as soon as possible.  The last day to submit Service Award Point forms for the school year is May 12 for seniors and May 16 for underclassmen.   - D. RECYCLE CHALLENGE:

This is the last week to bring in your plastic bags to E-103.  Any class that turns in 1,000 plastic bags or more will receive $100.  Save the environment and help out your class. May 1st is the last day to turn in your bags.   - D. Tanabe

SUMMER EMPLOYMENT

The National Parks are hiring students for the summer.  Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park has positions for Park Guide - temporary positions approx. 7 - 10 weeks.  Internship - approx. 10 weeks ($200 week stipend).   $11.72 to $14.71 per hour.

Kaloko Honokohau National Historical Park -  $11.72 to $14.71 per hr.  Park Guide- Permanent Full Time Yr. Round w/ benefits.  Park Guide - Hawaiian Speaking approx. 7 - 10 wks.  Park Guide - temp. position approx. 7 - 10 wks.  Must be 18 yr. old or 16 yrs.old by the time of employment (mid - June).

SUMMER SCHOOL

We will continue to accept applications for summer school.  Those of you who have already submitted applications will be receiving receipts this week.  If you need summer school, you need to turn in your applications and money to C102 or Mr. Williamson's box as soon as possible.  Classes are filling up; don't wait until the last minute or you might find yourself without a class for the summer. - K. SGA & CLASS OFFICERS INSTALLATION:

Everyone is invited to attend the 2008-2009SGA & Class Officers Installation Ceremony, tomorrow night, 6:30 pm in the WHS Library.  Please come and support your newly-elected officers. - D. Tanabe

AFTER-SCHOOL CONCESSION:

Thank you for supporting Close-Up during the month of April.  Please continue to support the Class of 2009 concession, after school in E-103. - D. Tanabe

RECYCLE CHALLENGE:

Please continue to bring in your plastic bags for recycling. This Thursday is the last day to turn in bags to E-103.   - D. Tanabe

2008 YEARBOOKS

If you would like to order a 2008 yearbook, please come to D-201 on Tuesday, April 29th or Wednesday, April 30th at lunch recess. Books are $50.00 and you can purchase the book with cash or a check made out to WHS.  This is your last chance to order a book.  All remaining books will be sold on May 29th after all yearbooks have been distributed.  At that time, you can purchase your book for $50.00, however, you must pay with cash. - K. RECYCLE CHALLENGE:

The juniors made an easy $100 by turning in 1, 013 plastic bags (KTA, Wal-Mart, etc.) to E-103.  Your class could be next.  The freshmen have 681 bags, followed by the seniors with 532 and the sophomores with 135.  Any class who turns in 1,000 bags will automatically receive $100 from SGA.   Deadline to turn in bags is this Thurs., May 1st.    - D. SENIOR RETREAT

Congradualtions SENIORS we have enough people signed up for senior retreat!!!  Sign Ups for activities and bus seating will being today and end on Friday in front of E-103 during lunch recess.  It's first come first serve, so don't be the last!  If you do not sign up for bus seating, the committee will randomly place you! - J. SOPHOMORE CLASS RING DELIVERY

Please go to P-5 during lunch recess on Wednesday to pick up your class ring.  Bring a check for the balance due.  Rings may also be ordered with a deposit of $60.00 to the Balfour Company. - G. Kobayashi

General membership meeting at lunch in Mrs. Sato's room.  Submit a written note to your grade level director if you cannot attend the meeting. - K. Sato

SIERRA STUDENT COALITION

Recycling on Tuesday, April 29th after school in Mr. Williamson's room. - K. Williamson

INTERACT CLUB

There will be a "mandatory" today at lunch recess. All member's need to be present.  - N. Sumida

 

FACULTY & STAFF

MANDATORY HCC ORIENTATION PRESENTATION

ALL SENIORS who have been accepted into Hawaii Community College, you are required to attend an important orientation  presentation in the Library on Tuesday, May 6th  at 9:15 am. Topics such as Registration procedures and orientation to HCC will be covered. Pick up passes at either GRAC (P-12) or at Q203 before May 6. - G. Victorine
