GENERAL

NA PUA NO'EAU SCHOLARSHIP

Seniors, if you are now participating in any Na Pua No'eau programs, or ifyou have been part of NPN in the past, you are eligible for the Hideo Noguchi Scholarship for the Advancement of Native Hawaiians.  Deadline is April 14, 2008.  Go to GRAC or to C101 for scholarship applications. - P. OXFOR ADVANCED STUDIES PROGRAM

Juniors and Seniors who are interested and can afford to  do college-level study at Oxford,England, applications are available at GRAC. Registration is $400 and the course of study costs $8,950 (which includes course fees for 2 courses, activities and visits, board and accomodations.  Deadline to apply is May 15, 2008.  The program runs from July 1-25, 2008. - P. WEEK DAY ATTENDANCE MAKEUP SESSIONS  

Kü ha'aheo Fourth Quarter weekday attendance makeup sessions begin on Monday April 7 and run thru Thursday, May 1.  Saturday School dates are May 10, May 17, and May 24.  Attendance sessions will be from 2pm-3pm Mondays thru Thursdays.

Students must be in C 102 by 2pm and may not leave before 3pm to get credit.  Students will receive the attendance confirmation from the study hall supervisor when they enter.  Do NOT wait until the end of April to make up your excess absences.  Go at the beginning of April and avoid the rush. There is NO excuse for any student not getting credit for a class due to excessive absences.  Come to C 101 if you have any questions.  - P. De Morales

HUIANA SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Will you be a Junior or Senior next year?  Interested in an exciting, hands-on career pathway work experience that will result in 1/2 or 1 elective credit that will count towards your graduation requirements?  Come and pick up an informational packet from Mrs. Yamanaka in U102.  Deadline to sign up is April 25th. - R. JUNIORS/SENIORS

College Connections is offering free COMPASS prep classes on Tues/Thurs, 3:00-5:00 pm at the WHS computer lab for  6 weeks.  If interested, sign up at www.collegeconnections.org.  - P. Yanagisawa

JUNIOR COUNTRY FAIR

ATTENTION WARRIORS!!  The Sharks need help in our fundraising efforts!!!  Bring in used goods to be sold at the Junior Country Fair rummage sale.  Donations can be dropped off anytime at R202.  - T. Kawada

MAY DAY EMCEES

Anyone interested in trying to be an emcee for this year's May Day program, please attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 8 during morning recess in C102.  Auditions will take place on Tuesday, April 15.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Kaleohano. - K. Kaleohano

SUMMER SCHOOL!

Want to get some classes out of the way?  Need to make some classes up?  Then Summer School is for you!  Stop by Ku ha'aheo for a catalog and application.  Courses are 80 dollars per half credit and classes will be from June 13-July 3, 8:00- 12:15.  The deadline for priority sign up is April 25. - K. WAIAKEA FFA WINS CTSO STATE GOLD

Congratulations to Waiakea High FFA students who  swept the FFA  Plant Identification contest with Tyrus Okinishi and Kimo Sarme taking 1st place State honors while Ashton Sentino and Mark Kaili took 3rd.  Ashli Hirai placed 2nd in the Prepared Public Speaking contest.  Her topic was on Biofuels and Global Warming.   Outstanding Job Warrior Aggies! - T. 13 POINTS

Yes, 13 points.  That's all the entire Junior class has reported for the Reading Challenge.  The Seniors are doing better with 22 points, while the Freshmen have 46 points and the miighty Soophomores have 49 points.  It looks like Prinicipal Koga will be a Jaguar at the big volleyball game!  And, as far as the pages read for Aunty Pua's challenge, we are now at 15% of our goal. - G. Kobayashi

SENIOR LU'AU:

Bids will continue to be sold from Monday through Friday, 4/7-4/11.  Cost is $15.00 for all senior dues payers.   - Y. Bright-Poai

SHARKS GOTTA READ

The Junior class is currently is LAST place in the Reading Challenge.  Read and submit your entries to the library by Friday so we can see Principal Koga dressed as a SHARK at the Waiakea/Kamehameha volleyball game.  LET'S GO SHARKS!!! - T. Kawada

SPRINGFEST CARNIVAL TICKETS

The Class of 2010 is selling tickets in advance for the Springfest Carnival!  Cost is $18.50 which includes the price of admission and un-limited rides for one day.  See any Jaguar or Ms. Yanagisawa in P4. - P. Yanagisawa

JUNIORS COMMENCEMENT DECORATIONS COMMITTEE

All juniors interested in planning and preparing for commencement decorations, please meet Thursday, April 10, and Friday, April 11, in Q202 during lunch recess. - C. Ray

FRESHMAN MAY DAY PRACTICE:

Any freshman interested in performing in the May Day Program, please attend practice every Tuesday and Thursday in E-103 from 2:15 - 3:00 p.m.  Practice will begin tomorrow.   - D. Tanabe
