NA PUA NO'EAU SCHOLARSHIP

Seniors, if you are now participating in any Na Pua No'eau programs, or ifyou have been part of NPN in the past, you are eligible for the Hideo Noguchi Scholarship for the Advancement of Native Hawaiians.  Deadline is April 14, 2008.  Go to GRAC or to C101 for scholarship applications. - P. EMPTY CARTRIDGES & CELL PHONES WANTED:

Recycle your empty inkjet cartridges and "old" cell phone to benefit our school and our community.  If everybody helps, we can make a difference in reducing pollution while raising funds at the same time.  Bring your items to E-103 and place them in the recycle box.   - D. Tanabe

ROCK & ROLL MUSICIANS

Attention Waiakea High School Faculaty, Staff & Students: Due to the excitement over the reading challeger issued by AuntY Pua & Principal Koga, we are looking for musicians who can play hard-core Rock & Roll so that we can serenade the two models.  Contact Mr. Marshall or Mr. Roberts if you can play drums, bass, keyboards, or guitar.  How does "Devil with the Blue Dress" sound? - A. SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

FILIPINO CHAMBER OF COMMERCE  -  High School seniors of Filipino ancestry are encouraged to apply. Amt. - $1,000.00. Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0.  Planning to major in area(s) related to business and /or commerce.Deadline: April 19, 2008.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT of  HAWAII, Inc. -  Applicant  must have completed a Junior Achievement High School Program, or taught a JA program as a classroom consultant.  Amt. - $500.00 - $1,000.00. Deadline : May 15, 2008.

BIG ISLAND ROAD RUNNERS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION -  Will award an annual  scholarship to one male and one female student-athlete. Amt. - $1,000.00.  Requirements: A runner, preferably a distance runner. GPA - 2.5. Member of a running team, high academic achievements, volunteer activities and community service. Deadline:  April 21, 2008.  For more information/application to any of these scholarships, come to GRAC (Port. 12 ). - N. Okinaka

DECA STORE CLOSED

The DECA Warrior Store will be closed during the week of March 31-April 4, students will be competing at the Hawaii State CTSO Convention.  Thanks! - S. Kojima

PAMANTASAN CONFERENCE AT HCC

Juniors and Seniors of Filipino or part-Filipino descent who are interested in attending this conference at HCC on April 18th, please see Mrs. Kodis or Mrs. Tagawa for the consent forms by April 1st.  Forms are due by April 2nd.  This conference focuses on support services available to Filipino students.  Limited to 10 students.   - H. SENIOR PROM PICTURES

Senior Prom pictures are available for pickup from Mrs. Yamanaka's room, U102 on Monday, March 31st and Tuesday, April 1st during lunch recess.  Please bring your receipt or ID.  You may only pick up your own pictures. - R. Yamanaka

KRISPY KREME FUNDRAISER

APRIL DRIVER ED. SESSION MANDATORY PARENT/STUDENT MEETING

Students who have signed-up for the April Driver Ed. session are to attend a mandatory parent/student meeting held on Thursday, April 3rd, 6:30pm, at  the Waiakea High Library. Student and parent must attend this meeting in order to take the class. - W. Yamauchi

Two 2007 Male Cheerleading, one 2006-2007 Homecoming and four 2006-2007 Variety Show dvds on sale in E-103 for $5 each.  First come, first served.  - D. Tanabe

MT. VIEW LIBRARY STUDENT HELPER POSITION:

The Mt. View Public and School Library is now recruiting for two student helper positions with one position opening in May and the other in August.  The position description and application form are available in E-103 or at our school's library. - D. Tanabe

Seniors who do not have a Senior English class this year, don't forget to pick up an important Commencement Newsletter from Mrs. Tagawa or Mrs. Lyman-Mandaloniz.  This newsletter includes important information on commencement, song practices and song practice tickets.   - H. Tagawa

SENIOR LU'AU

Pick up your permission forms for the Senior Lu'au starting today, Tuesday April 1 in front of E102.  Bid sales begin Thursday, April 2 - Monday, April 11.  Cost is $15.00 per senior.  Reminder this is a seniors-only event! - Y. Bright-Poai

ALOHA FRIDAYS

COMMENCEMENT EMCEE AUDITIONS
