AIR NATIONAL GUARD PRESENTATION

Sgt. Kim of the Air National Guards will be here on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 8:30am. If you are interested in joining the reserves, and serving part-time in the military, come and listen to the presentation, and see what the Air National Guards can do for you and also help you with college. SENIOR PROM BID SALES

Bid sales for the Senior Prom on March 8, 2008 will be held on Feb.4-14 during lunch recess in front of E-building.  Completed permission forms, copy of driver's license for guests and check/cash for bid amount will be collected.  Checks made payable to:  WHS-Senior Class of 2008.  Bids are $25 for WHS seniors and $30 for guests.  Dinner will be included in the cost.  Live entertainment will be provided by HRB and Ai Pohaku.  Buy your bids early!  If you have any questions, see Britney Nakayama or Mrs. Yamanaka, U102. - R. MID QUARTER FAIR

Just a reminder ! The Mid Quarter Fair is scheduled for Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 2:00pm. in the Library.  Reminder notices have been placed in the teachers boxes.  See you there !  - N. Okinaka

If you are interested in keeping Hawaii smoke-free, stop by room C101 and fill out a form from a program called REAL that expresses your support for Hawaii's smoke-free law. - R. Agsalda

ALL VARIETY SHOW PARTICIPANTS

Finale practices as as follows:  Thurs. Feb. 7 from 3:30 - 4:30 pm, Friday, Feb. 8 from 2:45 - 3:30 pm (may go longer), Monday, Feb. 11 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.  All of these practices will be held in M-102.  Any questions, please see Ms. Ellsworth in C-204. - M. Ellsworth

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP - ROBERT C. BRYD HONORS SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship program is a federally funded program to promote student excellence and achievement and to recognize exceptionally able students who show promise of continued excellence.  $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to seniors who meet the criteria:  US citizen or national /permanent resident and a legal resident of the State of Hawaii, graduate from high school/or earn GED during the 2007-2008 school year, cumulative GPA of 3.3 or an overall score of 60 on GED, minimum SAT score of 1270 on verbal and math sections and/or a composite ACT score of 29, and provide evidence of acceptance by an insitution of higher education (letter of acceptance for August/September 2008 - if you have not received a letter of acceptance, see the application form).  Applications must be postmarked by March 13th.  Applications are available from Mrs. Tagawa in P5.   - H. FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE BANQUET

Bid sales will be extended for ONE day due to the cancellation of school on 2/4.  Your LAST chance to buy a bid on Mon. Feb. 11 during lunch recess in front of E103.  Permission forms can be bought on Fri., Feb. 8 in P4. - P. Yanagisawa

GIRLS BASKETBALL:

Come out and support the girls as they compete in the BIIF Championships at the Afook-Chinen Auditorium today and tomorrow. - D. Tanabe

BOYS VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS

Boys Volleyball tryouts start Monday 2/11/08 at 4:30pm in Andrews Gym.  Completed Physical and Parent consent form required for participation. - T. Correa

GIRLS TENNIS TRYOUTS

Girls Tennis tryouts start Fri. 02/08 at 3:30pm  on the WHS Tennis Court attendance is Mandatory - T. Correa

GIRLS WATERPOLO TRYOUTS

Waterpolo tryouts begins on Monday, Feb. 11th at 2:00pm in Kawamoto Pool. Completed Physical and Parent Consent form required to participate. - T. Correa

Job Sharing Program 2008-2009 school year.  Deadline for job sharing program application: March 15, 2008.

Driver Education Teacher Certification Course - Hawaii.  The course will be held at Kealakehe High School, room Q102 on March 17-28 from 9 am to 3:30 pm. - M. Respicio
