GENERAL

FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE BANQUET

"HEAVEN CAN WAIT" will be held on Sunday, March 16 at the Nani Mau Gardens.  Permission forms and bids will be sold from January 23-February 7, during lunch recess, in front of E-103 ***excluding Fridays***.  Bids are $22 for 9th and 10th graders, $25 for guests. - P. Yanagisawa

COLLEGE PRESENTATIONS

LINFIELD COLLEGE  - A representative from Linfield College will be doing a presentation in GRAC (Port. 12) at 8:30 am. on Friday, January 25th.  Interested students can come to GRAC for a pass.

HONOLULU COMUNITY COLLEGE & KAPIOLANI COMUNITY COLLEGE - A representative from both Community Colleges will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Wednesday, January 30th at 10:30am.  All interested students, can come to GRAC for a pass. - N. Okinaka

ARMY NATIONAL GUARDS

Sgt. Nguyen of the Army will be doing a presentation in GRAC on Tuesday, January 29th at 10:30am. Unsure of your plans after graduation ? Come and listen and see what the Army can offer you. - N. Okinaka

HERSHEY'S KISS ROSES FOR VALENTINE'S DAY  

Would you like to share something sweet with that “special” friend on Valentine’s Day?  Stop by the Future Educators Booth in front of E103 starting on January 28th during lunch to buy Hershey’s Kiss Roses for that special someone.  Each rose will be $1.00 or 3 for 2.50.  Roses will be delivered on February 14 during 1st period. -  K. FILIPINO YOUTH CONFERENCE

The annual Sariling Gawa Filipino Youth Conference will be held during Spring Break. Cost is $140 for 4 days. Registration deadline is Feb. 23. If you are interested, check out the website  www.sarilinggawa.org or contact Mili Asuncion at 895-4103. - Z. Igawa

FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOP

The Financial Aid Workshop is scheduled for January 24th (Thursday) at 6 pm in the cafeteria.  Interested students and parents can come and hear Jeff Scoffield from UHH's Financial Aid Office talk about the Financial Aid process, Federal/State Aid Programs, State/Private Scholarships and the FAFSA.  Any questions, see Mrs. Tagawa in P5.  Don't forget!! - H. BLOOD DRIVE:   

Please wait for a pass before leaving for your scheduled appointment.  Only students with 8:00 and 8:15 appointments need to report to library directly.   Appointments may be delayed as the day progresses but we will inform you when it is time.   - Y. Bright-Poai

LIBRARY CLOSED:

The library will be closed all day on Thursday, January 24 due to the Blood Drive.  Please return all books to the office. - Y. Bright-Poai

MAMORU & AIKO TAKITANI FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

Applications available in Mrs. Tagawa's office (P5).  Selected candidate will be awarded a $1000 scholarship and may qualify for additional scholarships of up to $10,000.  Applicants must have a strong record of academic achievement and potential, actively participate in co-curricular and extra-curricluar activities, participate in community service activities, demonstrate financial need, and be an active candidate for undergraduate acceptance into an accredited 2 or 4 year college, technical school or business school.  COMPLETED APPLICATIONS DUE BACK TO MRS. BLOOD DRIVE:

Our annual blood drive will be held on Thursday, January 24 in our library.  Please do not send students to the library until a "runner" comes for them.  As the day progresses, appointments become delayed.  Appointments normally last for about an hour but with first-time donors, it may be up to 2 hours.  A list of donors with entry and exit times will be posted after the drive.  We so appreciate your help and patience! - Y. BLOOD DRIVE:

The committee humbly asks the faculty and staff for food donations during our blood drive on Thursday, January 24th.  Healthy and not-so-healthy donations would be appreciated.  Please drop-off at the library circulation desk on Thursday morning. - Y. Bright-Poai
