SOPHOMORE SHARKS

AUGUST DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS

Students who are enrolled in the August class are to see Mr. Yamauchi at the boys locker room before and after school, morning and lunch recess, to pick up parent letter for mandatory parent meeting.  - W. Yamauchi

PEFORMING ARTS LEARNING CENTER (PALC) REGISTRATION

Need credits?  Interested in acting, dancing, operating lighting and sound equipment, or building sets?  The Performing Arts Learning Center (PALC) is open to students from all different high schools and it counts as a half-credit course.  Students are now being accepted for the fall semester and the courses take place after school at Hilo High.  They really need male actors and students who are good at building things.  Students interested should see Miss Ellsworth in C-204 during breaks or before or after school BEFORE Wed. August 16 for registration information. - M. Ellsworth

STUDENT FEE PAYMENT

Student fees can be paid at the Finance Office before school (7:45-8:15), during morning recess or lunch recess periods only.  - J. Wung

KEY CLUB

All prospective Key Club members are invited to attend this week's membership meeting in Q201 (Mrs. Sato's room) at lunch recess on Tuesday (8/15).  Membership forms and information about Membership Development Week will be distributed.  If you are interested, but cannot make the meeting - see Mrs. Sato before Thursday (8/17) to pick-up forms. - K. UH MANOA PRESENTATION

A representative from UH Manoa will be giving a presentation on August 21st at 8:30am in the cafeteria.  All interested Juniors and Seniors are encouraged to attend.  Sign up in GRAC - J. Richards

SENIOR PHOTO

Seniors that have not had their senior picture taken at Reed and Jay need to call the studio at 935-9922 to make an appointment immediately.  All senior photos must be taken by August 18, 2006 in order to be placed in the yearbook. - K. Castillo

SENIOR YEARBOOK INFORMATION SHEET

If you did not get a yearbook information sheet in your junior class last year, regarding all deadlines for senior photos, ads, baby pictures and extra photos, please come by D-201 at lunch recess to pick one up. - K. Castillo

NJROTC - ADVENTURE COMES WITH ELECTIVE CREDIT !!

Looking for a challenge? Come to the NJROTC office in P-33 to sign up for Naval Science. In addition to academics, we get out of the classroom for exciting field trips which include shipboard orientation/lunch onboard the brand new cruise ship and going out to sea on Navy ships!  Interested in joining but can't fit it into your schedule? We are offering two after school classes and will continue to enroll students past the ADD deadline.  Join the adventure! - LCDR A. Schlegelmilch

SENIOR BABY PICTURE AND EXTRA PHOTO

Seniors please submit your saying and baby photo to D-201 by August 25, 2006.  Also, we are asking that you now turn in two extra photos to be included next to you senior picture by August 25, 2006.  Please make sure to have your name on everything you turn in. - K. Castillo

2005-2006 YEARBOOK

If you did not buy a yearbook last year and you would like to purchase one, come by D-201 at lunch recess to purchase one.  Yearbooks are $50.00 and you must pay with cash. - K. Castillo

SENIOR ADS

The yearbook class will be selling 15 more senior ad pages on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at lunch recess in D-201.   - K. Castillo

SPORTS

FOOTBAL STATISTICIANS

Any student interested in recording stats for the WHS football team can meet with the coaches at 3:30 on the football field Mon - Fri.. Stats are needed for both the JV and Varsity  - T. Correa

KEY CLUB

Meeting for prospective Key Club members on Tuesday, August 15 at lunch recess in Q201.  If you cannot make the meeting you must see Mrs. Sato by 8/17 (Thursday) to get your forms and instructions.             - K. Sato

JUNIOR CLASS HOMECOMING MALECHEERLEADERS

Juniors who are interested in becoming a male cheerleader for homecoming, or are interested in joining the committee.  Come to an informational meeting at D-203, every FRIDAY, during LUNCH.  If you have any questions or concerns please see Mrs. Uyeda or Kellen. - K. Uyeda

CHESS CLUB

The new, 2006 - 2007 WHS Chess Club is forming, anyone interested in playing or learning to play chess should attend the regular weekly meetings, every Tuesday at lunch recess in E-204. - W. Joseph

SENIOR MALE CHEERLEADERS  

Attention all senior men!  If you would like to participate in this years male cheerleading competition, there is a MANDATORY meeting in Mrs. Ballo's room (b-101) during lunch recess on Wed. August 16. Come on seniors this is your last year,  lets go all out!  - N. Ballo
