GENERAL

AFTER-SCHOOL CONCESSION

The Sophomore class will have assorted snacks and drinks on sale, after school, in E-103, from Tuesday, August 1st - 31st.   - T. Kawada

Welcome back!!!  Come & support your class by purchasing snacks and drinks after school, in E-103, throughout the month of August. - T. Kawada

2006-2007 YEARBOOKS

If you are interested in ordering a 2006-2007 yearbook sales will begin on Monday, August 7, 2006 at lunch recess in room D-201.  Yearbooks are $50.00 and you can pay with cash or a check written to WHS. - K. Castillo

FLAG TEAM

Anyone interested in becoming a part of a Flag team to represent Waiakea High by marching with the band in parades, and possibly performing at other events, please come to an informational meeting in M101 on Monday, August 7, at 11:30. - B. Sever

TRIP TO FRANCE

The early enrollment deadline has been extended for anyone interested to going to France during spring break.  Please come to room C-201 on Tuesday, Aug. 8, or ASAP for an application. - K. Dinges

SOPHOMORE T-SHIRTS

Pre-orders for NEW class t-shirts will be taken during lunch recess beginning Monday, August 7th thru Thursday, August 10th in R-202.  We're ordering early so we can have our NEW shirts in time for Homecoming.  Cost is approximately $11.  More information to follow. - T. Kawada

AUGUST DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS

All students who have signed up for August Driver Education class are to see Mr. Yamauchi at the boys locker room before and after school, or morning and lunch recess, to pick up parent letter for mandatory parent meeting. Parents must attend meeting in order for student to take Driver Education class. Students who have their permits and would like to sign up for classes, may do so with Mr. Yamauchi.  - W. Yamauchi

STUDENT PARKING

Students are allowed to park on campus ONLY if you have a parking permit.  You can pick up an application at the office and buy your permit at P3a. - J. Urasaki

 

SPORTS

FOOTBALL TRYOUTS

All students interested in playing football can still attend tryouts. Tryouts start at 3:00 pm daily at the football field. A physical and a completed parent consent form are required before you can participate. If you have any questions see Coach Rocha or Coach Foster (on the field before tryouts) - T. Correa

 

MEETINGS

SOPHOMORE COMMITTEE CHAIRS

A mandatory meeting for all sophomore committee chairs is scheduled for Thursday, August 10th, in R-202, during lunch recess.  Come & meet your class advisors.     - T. Kawada

KEY CLUB

Meeting for prospective Key Club members on Tuesday, August 15 at lunch recess in Q201.  If you cannot make the meeting you must see Mrs. Sato by 8/17 (Thursday) to get your forms and instructions. - K. Sato

JUNIOR CLASS COUNCIL

To all officers, committee chairs, and  Vipers  interested in making a difference to our class - please attend our first class council meeting of the year on Thursday, August 10th in D-203.  Meeting will start promptly at 11:30.  See Mrs. Uyeda if you are interested but cannot attend.  Thank you. - K. CHESS CLUB

The WHS Chess Club will be holding its first meeting of the school year on Tuesday, August 8,  during lunch recess, in E-204.  Anyone interested in playing, or learning to play chess should attend this informational meeting. - W. Joseph

 

INTERACT BOARD MEETING

A meeting has been scheduled for Interact board members Monday, August 7 in H counselors during lunch. - P. Clemmer

SIERRA STUDENT COALITION MEETING

Do you care about the environment?  Are you interested in helping keep Waiakea beautiful?  Then come and join the Sierra Student Coalition!  Our first organizational meeting will be Friday, August 11 during lunch. - K. Williamson
EVACUATION SIGNS

Last call for requests for evacuation signs made by the WHS Key Clubbers.  Send lotus to me (Kari Sato) or leave a note in my box with your name as you want it on the sign by this Friday (8/11/06). - K. Sato

ALERT ALARM TRAINING

Training for Alert Alarm will be on Monday, Aug. 7, 2:30 pm at the library - J. Urasaki
