GENERAL

SAT TEST REMINDER

SAT I Test on Saturday, December 6 from 8:00 am - 12:15 pm at the Waiakea High School Cafeteria.  Students taking the SAT II Test should report to GRAC.  All students need to bring the following:  two sharpened #2 pencils; admission ticket & correction form; picture ID; calculator. - T. Kawada

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM TIME RESERVED IN THE GYM FOR ALL CLASSES:  ALL CLASSES WILL BE ALLOWED 25 MINUTES OF PRACTICE IN THE GYM, PRIOR TO THE MASS REHEARSAL.    DECEMBER 8 - FRESHMEN MAY PRACTICE IN THE GYM FROM 2:05 - 2:25;  SENIORS MAY PRACTICE FROM 2:30 - 2:55.   DECEMBER 9 - SOPHOMORES MAY PRACTICE IN THE GYM FROM 2:05 - 2:25;  JUNIORS MAY PRACTICE FROM 2:30 - 2:55.  YOU MUST VACATE THE GYM BY 2:55 TO ALLOW B-BALL TEAM TO PRACTICE.  IF YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE YOUR PRACTICE TIME, PLEASE LET MRS. NAUNGAYAN KNOW.  BRING YOUR OWN BOOMBOX AND TAPE TO PRACTICE.

CHRISTMAS WEEK - MONDAY:

Show your Christmas spirit on Monday, Dec. 8, by wearing red and green, and come to E-103 during morning recess to receive your jingle bell.  At lunch recess there will be a holiday dress up contest with materials being supplied to each team of 3.   Teams may sign up in E-103.  - D. Tanabe

Freshmen and Sophomores interested in being an usher/usherette for Junior Ball on February 15, 2004, Sunday, pick up application form ASAP from Rachel Kaneta or Mrs. Akiona in GRAC.  Forms due by Dec 12, Friday, lunch recess. - M. Akiona

WAIAKEA HIGH'S READING CHALLENGE

Schoolwide Reading Challenge begins Friday and ends January 15, 2004.   Read as many books as you can during this period.  Fill out an entry blank for your class and enter it in the Reading Challenge container in the library.  Principal Nekoba will dye her hair the colors of the class that reads the most books.  A written entry is worth 1 point; a videotaped booktalk is worth 10 points.  Entry blanks are available from your English teachers or the library.  Books must be at least 100 pages and 6th grade reading level.  Teachers and Staff will also be competing with the classes.    So, everybody, TAKE TIME TO READ! - G. WAIAKEA SFF STUDENT CREDIT UNION GRAND OPENING

Hungry?  Thristy?  Wanna win some cash?  Well, attend the Waiakea SFF Student Credit Union Grand Opening on December 12th, lunch recess in the quad and B-201.  If you are interested in opening an account, stop by B-201 to pick up a form.  You may also choose to open your account on December 12th.  Join the fun and listen to KWXX's Kat and Keala, try your luck at winning cash from our new ATM machine and eat free hot dogs and soda (while supplies last!).  Thank you for supporting the WHS DECA Warriors. - S. DECA members, yearbook picture taking is scheduled for Wednesday, morning recess, 9:55, in the Rock Garden.  Please be prompt. - P. King

KEY CLUB PICTURE TAKING

Scheduled for Tuesday, 12/09, first recess at the gym.  Wear blue polos and be there by 10:00 so that we will be ready for our turn.  We will have a short meeting outside immediately after to go over upcoming projects. - K. Sato

DECA STORE CLOSING FOR INVENTORY AND FOR GRAND OPENING OF WAIAKEA SFF CREDIT UNION

The DECA Store will be closed on December 12th (for Waiakea SFF Student Credit Union Grand Opening) and from December 17th through January 19th.  We will reopen on January 20th.  Thank you for supporting the WHS DECA Warriors throughout this 2003 year. - S. Kojima

WAIAKEA SFF (STUDENT FACULTY & FAMILY) STUDENT CREDIT UNION

For those interested in opening an account, please pick up your membership application at B-201 prior to the Grand Opening on Dec. 12th.  We will need a photocopy of you and your parent's picture ID on Dec. 12.  The accounts will be "joint" share accounts.  Thank you. - S. Kojima

HÖ'IKE HULA

The Kü Ha'aheo hula class will be having its final performance next Thursday, December 11 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at WHS Cafe.  Tickets are available for purchase ($5) at C-101 until 12/9.  Light refreshments will be served.  Come and enjoy! - M. Yamashita

Waiakea Boys 6, St. Joe 0

Goals scored by:  Gene Okamura (2), George Ichimaru, Martc Hernandez, Kyle Cabison and Zac Dominy.  Kacy Goldstein was the shutout goalkeeper.  No cautions or ejections for Waiakea.  Oner Caution to St. Joe. - E. Hagiwara

EARLY RELEASE OF JV BASKETBALL TEAM
