GENERAL

SENIORS

Freeman Correia of the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard will be available to meet with students on Friday, November 7th at 9:00 a.m. in the Library.  Mr. Correia is in a top level management position at the Shipyard and will be speaking with students about job opportunities available at the Shipyard.  Interested Seniors should come to GRAC for a pass.   - T. AUDITION FOR CHRISTMAS PROGRAM EMCEES  

If you are interested in serving as an Emcee for the December 11th Christmas Program, please come to D204 and pick up an audition script.  Auditions will be held on Thursday, November 6th in D204 during First and Second Recess.   - S. Naungayan

FRESHMAN CLASS OF 2007 T-SHIRTS

Orders are now being taken for Freshman C/0 2007 T-Shirts, starting Monday 11-3-07.! You must turn in your order form with payment to C-202 from 12:10 - 12:30 p.m. (during lunch recess). If you need an extra form or informationregarding the T-shirts, you may see Ms. Martino in C202. Order forms will be taken up until Friday 11--7-03! So hurry up and order your awesome t-shirts today and show your class spirit!!!   - J. Martino

JUNIORS & SENIORS

A representative from Pacific Lutheran University will be in GRAC on Monday, November 10 at 12:45 p.m.  Pacific Lutheran University is a large, private 4 year university located in Tacoma, Washington.  Interested students need a minimum combined SAT of 1000 and GPA of 3.0.  Come to GRAC for passes.   - T. COMPASS TEST  

Juniors and seniors who wish to take COMPASS should bring their social security card or a copy of it to Q203 as soon as possible.

COMPASS is a placement test for the community colleges in Hawaii.     - H. Wegner

NISEI VETERANS ENDOWED FORUM SERIES 2004 VALUES FOR LIFE ESSAY CONTEST   

Topic:  "How to insure national security while preserving our democratic values." Any student who would like to participate in this national contest ( 3 page maximum essay) must inform  Mrs. Corella by Nov. 21. Although the contest deadline is in February, the deadline for registering is at the end of Nov.   Thank you.   - C. Corella

WHS CLOTHING:

Have you noticed the chilly weather lately?  WHS has the warmest sweatshirts and long sleeved shirts on sale in E-103 for very reasonable prices:  hooded sweatshirts-$20; zippered hooded jackets-$25; regular sweatshirts-$15; and long-sleeved t-shirts-$14-$16 depending on the size & color.  Cash or checks for the exact amount are accepted.    - D. Please notify Ms. Ogata (P-28 or put a note in office box) if you would like to be on the Winterball ballot by Friday, November 7, 2:10.  Your name will be removed from the ballot if we don't hear from you.   - A. Ogata

Congratulations to all the nominees.  Notices will be passed out by your Period 2 teachers.  Please reply, if you want to be on the Winterball ballot.  Send all replies to Ms. Ogata at P-28 or placed them in her box at the main office.   - A. Ogata

WINTERBALL BID SALES:

Permission forms are available at P-28 or E-103.  Don't forget to clear all your obligations - Cafeteria, School dues, Library obligations and other school related obligations!!!!   Bid sales will begin on November 10 at P-28 during morning and lunch recess.  Please bring your complete permission form, school ID and $5.00.  If you are bringing a guest - they need a completed form, copy of a school picture ID, and $7.00.  Keep in mind - if you purchase your bid during the first 2 weeks of bid sales, you could get a $10 gift certificate.  Bid sales end on November 26th, there will be no extentions.   - A. FRIENDS OF BETHANY HAMILTON:

By now, many of you have heard or read about thirteen year old Bethany Hamilton who lost her left arm in a shark attack last week.  Although she is from Kauai, her story has touched many of us at WHS.  A collection jar has been set up in E-103 to collect donations for her medical bills and future prosthetic devices.  Donations will be collected until next Friday.  If you're interested in her story, check out a Web site at www.bethanyhamilton.com, which contains photos, updates on her condition and more.     - D. HAWAII COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Representatives from Hawaii Community College will be available to meet with Juniors and Seniors on Wednesday, November 12 at 8:30 a.m. in the library.  Interested students should come to GRAC for a pass.    - T. Kawada

FRESHMAN CLASS T-SHIRT SALES!

MAHALO NUI LOA to: Mr. Barnes, Ms. Ballo, Mrs. Poai, Mrs. Iokepa, Mrs. Uyeda, and Mr. Escobar for posting the Freshman class t-shirt designs in your classrooms and handing out order forms to any freshman interested in purchasing their class shirts.
