PSAT/NMSQT TEST REMINDER

The PSAT/NMSQT will be held on Saturday, October 18 from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the WHS Cafeteria.  Students should bring the following:  Picture ID, white PSAT receipt, two sharpened #2 pencils, calculator.     - T. Kawada

FIRST QUARTER EXCUSED ABSENCES

All notes to excuse "Column B" type absences for the 1st quarter must be turned in by TODAY - Friday, October 17.  No absences for 1st quarter will be exempt after TODAY. Notes should be placed in my box in the main office   - M. Yamashita

SENIOR HALL OF FAME

Cast your vote for this year's Senior Hall and Fame this week (10/14-10/17) during LUNCH at Mrs. King's class (D-201).     - P. King

SOPHOMORES WANTED

We need your support!  Sophomore class needs at least 50 of you SPIRITED TIGERSto march with our class in the Homecoming Parade in order to get the maximum participation points.  If you would like to join us please have your permission form signed and turned in to Mrs. Uyeda, Tiffany Johnston, or any of your class officers ASAP.  Show your Tiger and Warrior P.R.I.D.E.!   - K. A representative from Whitman College will be in GRAC on Monday, October 20 at 1:25 p.m.  Whitman is a small, private 4 year liberal arts college in Walla Walla, Washington.  Interested students should come to GRAC for a pass.   - T. Kawada

SENIORS MARCHING IN HOMECOMING PARADE    

All Seniors planning to march in today's homecoming parade MUST turn in a permission form to Ms. Botelho (Q204).   You will NOT be able to march if I do not receive a permission form for you.  You may pick up forms in Q204.   - L. Botelho

MATH LEAGUE

HALLOWEEN DANCE:   

Today is the last day to turn in Halloween dance permission forms to E-103.  No forms will be collected after lunch recess.   - D. Tanabe

HOMECOMING 2003:

Today is the final day of Homecoming.  Report to the gym at 1:20 pm for the Closing Rally, followed by the parade at 4:00 pm beginning at the Kawamoto Swim Stadium and ending at Wong Stadium.  The football games against Kamehameha (JV) and Ka'u  (V) will begin at 5 pm.  Introduction of the court and first and second place male cheerleader winners will also be showcased.  Senior fall athletes will also be recognized at the end of the game.  Come down and join the fun!   - D. "HARMONY BEGINS AT HOME", POSTER CONTEST

Win prizes and awards!  Enter the "Harmony Begins at Home" poster contest sponsored by the Bay Clinic's Healthy Intentions Project and Planet Puna Domestic Harmony Project.  You need to submit a poster of a happy family, or a picture of what domestic viloence does to a family.  Deadline for submission is Nov. 3, 2003.  Please see Mrs. Yamanaka in U102 for additional contest specifics.   - R. SENIORS MARCHING IN PARADE

1)  Reminder that Saturday's DP Day project at Hale Anuenue is mandatory.  If you cannot attend, you need to bring 3 prize items for bingo to Mrs. Sato by 2:00 today.  2)  Hilo High Key Club's Halloween dance has been cancelled.   - K. Sato

UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII RAINBOWS WINTER BASEBALL CAMP

UH Baseball Coach Mike Trapasso & his coaching staff will hold three camps in December (22-23, 27-28, 29-30) designed to improve pitching, catching & hitting.  Interested students should come to GRAC for more information or application form.   - T. Kawada

GIRL'S GOLF SIGN-UPS

LEO CLUB TEACHER'S HELPER

Leo Club is offering services to teachers who would like a student helper to do errands or help with any other work.  Services may be available during first recess, lunch recess or after school.  If you are interested in having a teacher's helper please contact Mrs. Otsubo or Mrs. Hosaka, or leave a note in their box.  Please include the date/schedule and time when you'd like the Leo helper(s) to come.  Also, please indicate whether you'd like to have more than one helper.   - J.
