GENERAL

PSAT/NMSQT TEST REMINDER

The PSAT/NMSQT will be held on Saturday, October 18 from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the WHS Cafeteria.  Students should bring the following:  Picture ID, white PSAT receipt, two sharpened #2 pencils, calculator.     - T. Kawada

UH-MANOA COLLEGE OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM

Applications available for seniors who may not meet the eligibility requirements for regular UH-Manoa admission.  Selected students who successfully participate in summer programs may gain admission into UH-Manoa for the fall semester.  Application deadline is December 3rd.  Come to GRAC for more information.    - T. MATH LEAGUE:

Mandatory Practice for Meet #1 will be held afterschool on Thursday, Oct. 16, in room U203.  Please pay $3.00 for bus fare and turn in permission blanks before Friday, Oct. 17.   - C. Mizuno

FIRST QUARTER EXCUSED ABSENCES

All notes to excuse "Column B" type absences for the 1st quarter must be turned in by Friday, October 17.  No absences for 1st quarter will be exempt after Friday, 10/ 17. Notes should be placed in my box in the main office.   - M. Yamashita

SENIOR HALL OF FAME

Cast your vote for this year's Senior Hall and Fame this week (10/14-10/17) during LUNCH at Mrs. King's class (D-201).     - P. King

HOMECOMING T-SHIRTS:

Extra Homecoming t-shirts are on sale in E-103, first-come, first-served.  Cost is $7 for adult S-XL, $6 for kids size, S-L.   Shirts may be worn on Friday, School Colors/Homecoming T-shirt Day, and at the parade.     - D. Tanabe

HALLOWEEN DANCE:

Bids are now on sale in E-103 during morning recess only.  All obligations (cafeteria, textbook, library, etc.) must be cleared in order to purchase a bid.  Cost is $1.00 and a canned good, plus a signed permission form.    - D. Tanabe

SENIORS MARCHING IN HOMECOMING PARADE   

All Seniors planning to march in the homecoming parade on 10/17, Friday MUST turn in a permission form to Ms. Botelho (Q204) by 10/16, Thursday.  You will NOT be able to march if I do not receive a permission form for you.  You may pick up forms in Q204.   - L. Botelho   -

A representative from Harvey Mudd College will be in GRAC on Friday, October 17 at 9:00 a.m.  Harvey Mudd College is a small private 4 year engineering and liberal arts college in Claremont, California.  Students interested should come to GRAC for a pass.   - T. Kawada

SOPHOMORES WANTED

We need your support!  Sophomore class needs at least 50 of you SPIRITED TIGERSto march with our class in the Homecoming Parade in order to get the maximum participation points.  If you would like to join us please have your permission form signed and turned in to Mrs. Uyeda, Tiffany Johnston, or any of your class officers ASAP.  Show your Tiger and Warrior P.R.I.D.E.!   - K. BOY'S BASKETBALL SIGN-UPS

All boys interested in trying out for the basketball team are to meet at the gym on Monday, Oct. 20th at 12:00 to sign-up.  Please be prompt.   - K. Yamase

BOYS SOCCER SIGN-UPS

"Varsity and JV Boys Soccer sign up on Thursday 16th of October at H103 from 2:01 pm till 3 pm.

Please ensure that you have your sports physical clearance.   First day of

practice will be on the 20th of October.  Practice starts promptly at 3 pm    Meet at the Waiakea Intermediate Field.  Bring both running shoes and soccer shoes, shin guards, White or light colored shirt, and your Soccer ball."   - E. Hagiwara

UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII RAINBOWS WINTER BASEBALL CAMP

UH Baseball Coach Mike Trapasso & his coaching staff will hold three camps in December (22-23, 27-28, 29-30) designed to improve pitching, catching & hitting.  Interested students should come to GRAC for more information or application form.   - T. Kawada

LEO CLUB TEACHER'S HELPER

Leo Club is offering services to teachers who would like a student helper to do errands or help with any other work.  Services may be available during first recess, lunch recess or after school.  If you are interested in having a teacher's helper please contact Mrs. Otsubo or Mrs. Hosaka, or leave a note in their box.  Please include the date/schedule and time when you'd like the Leo helper(s) to come.  Also, please indicate whether you'd like to have more than one helper.   - J. ROBOTICS CLUB APPRECIATION

The Robotics Club would like to thank all of the Staff for supporting our Kalua Pig Sale.  We still have a few left if you would to purchase some more.   We have made a dent in our fund raising goal of $22,000.  Again much mahalo's from the Dale, Myself and the whole club
