GENERAL

HOBBY PICTURES

Yearbook is looking for hobby pictures (rodeo, hunting, fishing, 4 wheeling, paint ball, etc.)  of you and your friends.  Submit to Mrs. King (D201) by Tuesday, September 30th.  Make sure your name is on the back of the photo.  Pictures will be returned at the end of the year.  Don't miss this opportunity to get your picture in the yearbook.    - P. PSAT/NMSQT

Registration is still being taken for the PSAT/NMSQT which will be held on Saturday, October 18 at 7:30 a.m. at the WHS Cafeteria. The PSAT/NMSQT is open to students in grades 9-11.  Interested students should register in GRAC.  Cost is $11.00.  Both cash and checks are being accepted.  Checks should be made payable to WHS.   - T. HAWAII GRAD NITE AT DISNEYLAND

A representative will be available to meet with interested SENIORS in GRAC on Thursday, October 2 during lunch recess.  Please bring your deposit with you to the meeting.    - T. Kawada

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

2004 TOYOTA COMMUNITY SCHOLARS:  for seniors with outstanding academic credentials, leadership and community service.  National winners receive scholarships valued at $10,000 - $20,000.  Interested students should submit a personal data sheet or resume to Mrs. Kawada by Friday, November 14.      - T. ATTENDANCE

Be sure to keep your attendance up to date.  Check the actual dates of any absences you have with each of your teachers.  Remember to turn in requests to excuse an absence promptly.    - M. Yamashita

KEY CLUB

reminder that dues of $14.00 must be paid by September 30 to still be considered a member of the club.  Sign up for club unity night by Thursday Oct 2 - cost $7.00.  Also - don't forget to bring canned goods for food drive - last day Oct. 3 (Friday) to Q201.  Questions??  Ask Mrs. Sato or Tracey Niimi.   - K. ELECTRONICS TECHNICAL CENTER @ WAIAKEA HIGH

ETC is accepting applications from students interested in learning about the world of electricity/electronics.  One credit electricity/electronics classes will be from 3 to 5 pm beginning October 13, 2003.  Applications and more imformation can be picked up at J-Electronics.    - M. Masuhara

FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE BANQUET:

Sophomores interested in planning the Freshman/Sophomore Banquet are encouraged to sign up with Mrs. Yanagisawa in GRAC, Caroline Merino, or on the committee sign-up sheet posted on the Class of 2006 bulletin board in C-204.  We need your ideas and help in planning this memorable event!   - K. FRESHMEN CHEER

Freshmen, you should be receiving a copy of the cheer for the Homecoming rally in your Social Studies classes.  Please learn it and keep the paper in a safe place to be used at the rally.  The better you learn it, the louder you'll yell. Please support the freshmen class in the cheer competition.   - C. Ray

HOMECOMING T-SHIRTS:

Wednesdy, Oct. 1, will be the last day to pre-order your Homecoming t-shirt in E-103 during lunch recess.  Cost is $7 for adult S-XL, $8.50 for 2XL-3XL and $6 for kids S-L.   - D. Tanabe

SATURDAY SCHOOL

The first of five Saturday Schools this semester will be this Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003 @ WHS Cafe, 8:00a.m.  Be on time, no late entry.  Have valid ID; dress standards apply; bring work to do.  Remember, you don't have to have more than 5 absences to attend Saturday School.   - M. Yamashita

JUNIORS/SENIORS - If you or your parent/guardian DO NOT want your name and information given to military recruiters, this FRIDAY is the deadline to turn these forms in.  Forms are available at the Registrar's office.   - M. Masaki

JUNIOR CLASS CHILI SALES

Be sure to sell all of your tickets and turn in all monies and unsold tickets to Mr. Takahashi in U101 or Kristen Bautista by 10/1 Wednesday.  All students with outstanding tickets and money will be on the obligation list!   - M. Akiona

PTSA CHILI TICKETS:

Homecoming PTSA chili tickets/money is due to E-103 by this Friday, Oct. 3.  Purchase your tickets from any class council member of in E-103 as soon as possible.    - D. Tanabe

 

 

SPORTS

JV SOFTBALL

The final day for JV Softball tryouts is Friday, October 3rd.  Any girl who has not yet come out is to see Coach Kaleo at the softball field at 3:00.   - K. Yamase

 

 

MEETINGS

HAWAIIAN CLUB

There will be a Hawaiian Club meeting during morning recess on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 in room C102.  Please bring your money for your t-shirts as we will be distributing them after the meeting.  Mahalo!   - K. Kaleohano

WHS PLATINUM DISCOUNT CARDS

The WHS Discount Cards will go on sale starting Monday, 9/29.  The card is good for (1) year starting October 1st.  All proceeds to go to assist in helping pay for transportation and equipment for the Warrior Athletic Program.  Please post the flyer that is in your boxes.  Thank you!!   - K.
